On Sunday, May 23, the committee has assigned eleven men to beach duty as this will be the first good cleanup since last September. In charge of operations is Howard Lexow and his co-worker^ are D. Musielak, W. Wilson, H. McDermott, J. Flint, W. Corcoran, M. Zeimet, C. Whitney, G. Hattan, A. Cicchini and R. Clark. Each able bodied man in'the area has been asked to put in .one hour's work a year on this project so please let us have better co-operation this year than in the past. Birthday Greetings Marie Cicchini and John Valek start off this week by having a birthday on May 20; John will be 14 years old, Nancy Hattan who will have 8 candles on her cake on tbe 22nd, Dianne Clark on the 23rd and Lee Whethefhult on the 25th. The Hattan children have | had a visit from Mr. Measles, that is all but Butchie, but being so close to his brothers and sisters it is almost certain that he will not escape the same fate. Hope they all feel better by the time this comes out. On May 2 Dorothy Koleno's sisters and relatives gave a miscellaneous shower for Marty,, Jr., and his bride, the former Mary Elizabeth Joyce. ' Swimming Lessons Audrey Whitney reports that so far she has not received any calls from you gals interested in the swimming lessons which will start at the end of June. How about giving her a ring so she can get the ball rolling. Welcome the Kunzers Audrey Whitney has officially welcomed the George Kunzer family in to the Shores. George and his wife, Julie, have two daughters, Carrie, aged 3, and Laurie, aged 2. The Kunzers have been in the house on Hollywood Blvd., for a few months now and at the last meeting of the Shores Club were made members. Welcome to our little community and &e hope you like it here. Odds and Ends On Sunday, Mother's Day, Audrey Whitney entertained twenty-nine for the day, having a combination Mother's day and birthday party for Chuck's Mr. Gale In Hospital John Gale had a heart attack and is in the Alexian Brothers hospital at 1200 W. Belden in Chicago. He will be there for a few more weeks so any of his friends wishing to send a card to him may do so. Mrs. Gale is spending the entire day at his side. Best wishes for a speedy recovery to Mr. Gale. Well, until next week, keep well. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Gruner attended the "wedding reception held May 8 at the La- Salle hotel in Chicago for Mrs. Gruner's nephew, Jack Schaining, who was married to Mary Carol Wagner. Over 250 guests and relatives enjoyed the dinner. The bridal couple is honeymooning in California. The Gruners were accompanied by their son, Otto. LAKEMOOR - LILYMOOR SHIRLEY SCHUERR 889-2645 AREA FIRES REQUIRE SERVICE OF COMPANY 3 The firemen of Company 3 of Lakemoor were called out at 9 a.m Friday, May 14, to the home of Raymond Goodyear of 134 So. Park in Lakemoor. The fire was confined to the kitchen. No one was hurt. The firemen were called out Friday, May 7, to 608 Columbus to put out a fire in an auto. The auto, owned by Mrs. Rays, was gutted. There is a correction on the election of officers of the firemen of Company 3. Cliff Miller is Lt. and MacDonald is secretary and treasurer. Chuck Abel was appointed chief after the election of officers. Waukegan. He is undergoing a series of tests. Get-well wishes go to Edna Crawley. Edna hasn't been | feeling well lately. Get-well wishes also go to | John Milinac. John has been in the T. B. sanatorium in Waukegan for several months. He would love to hear from his many friends from here. Here is hoping you are all on the road to recovery. New Baby Linda Solesbee presented her husband, Jim, with a very lovely Mother's day present. Linda presented him with a boy Sunday, May 9. Wee-one James Wallace, Jr., weighed in at 11 lbs 2 oz. and twenty-two inches long. Home waiting to greet their new little brother are Cindy and April. Back From Vacation Peter Gruedel has returned home after sepnding six months vacation in the state of California. While there he visited with his daughters, nieces and nephews. Peter is the grandfather of Don Leske. Attends Installation Eunice Tobey, junior regent, and two of the ladies of the Moose, Alice Kowal and Marcelle Carlson, attended the installation of the men officers of the Moose Sunday, May 9. Eunice played the piano for the installation. Officers And Board of directors meeting for the Woman's auxiliary will be held this coming Wednesday, May 26, at the home of Connie Johnson at 1 p.m. The officers and board of directors of the Lilymoor association will hold their monthly meeting at the home of Theron and Ruth Young Tuesday, June 1, at 8 p.m. Guests Of Walter and Josephine Schuerr has been Josephine's cousin, Jule Lemmer of Chicago. While visiting they made a trip to Bellville to see the Lady of the Snow Shrine there. ON THE HOOVER CONVERTIBLE fr Double Celebration Sunday, May 9, was a full and happy day for Mrs. Hulda Rathke. Not only did her children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren help her celebrate Mother's day but also her birthday.
