Immediately to the right of the entrance to that barn, a special feature will be a pioneer canning kitchen. Mrs. John Bokum, Mrs. Warren Shocrnaker and Mrs. Dan Cameron hpve collected wine presses, black iron cooking pols, and 100-year-old canning jars with the canned pickles and . beans still in the jars. The McHenry County Historical Society is lending many items to the canning kitchen to enhance the authenticity of the project. Mrs. John Clifford and Mrs. Frederick Clifford, hospitality chairmen, will serve punch and qpffee in the guegt house, M|rhich is directly beside one of tjie large ponds found on this qplling picturesque farm.
