The Blessed Virgin Sodality is sponsoring another of their ever so popular bake sales on this particular Sunday. The ladies will.be in the school hall after all the Masses to take care of you, whether you are buying or donating. A special plea is sent out to all the ladies in the area to bake as much as possible for the sale. .Try to get your articles to the school as early as possible. The foursome made a week long trip to Park Falls, Wis., where they found the fish" just waiting to be caught. They not only had enough for their daily meals, but also brought some along heme for the freezer The weather, from all reports, was most delightful. New Grandson In line for congiatulatioris this week are Mr. and Mrs. Joe L. Freund. They became grandparents once again last week when their daughter and son-in-law, the Perry Walkers of McHenry, welcomed a son. Best wishes to all. Sportsmen Want Participation This is just a reminder once again that the young men of baseball would like to see a few more parents out at their games. This is not an invitation just to parents though The boys will welcome any kind of an audience that will give them some moral support. You know most anyone can play better if they know someone is around' wat&hmg them. "I he Majors play here on Tuesday and Wednesday, the Minors on Monday and Friday, and the eight-year-olds on Thursday. The Majors are in uniform this year. Why not try to get out and see a few of the games? The boys will certainly apprecate it. Don't forget we also have a hard ball team, namely the Tigers, who play every Sunday, and two soft ball teams, Hettermanns and the Dog' House, who play on either Tuesdays or Thursdays at the V.F.W. .diamond in McHenry. These fellows would also like some grandstand participation. Exchange .Marriage Vows The former Marilyn Fuchs became Mrs. Allan Etherige in a beautiful ceremony which took place in St. John's church on June. 12. Later in the day many, of their friends and relatives joined in. extending, their best wishes to the newlyweds for a most happy future. We also send along our good wishes to them. Joint Graduation Parties --Eatsy----and---Jim Me vers shared the spotlight in their home recently when they were guests ot honor at a joint graduation party. They are the children of Si and Bonnie Meyers. Patsy received her diploma from St. John's school and Jim is a recent graduate of the McHenry high school. Many relatives and friends were in the Meyers home to participate in the celebration. Cousins Jean and Joy Hettermann were honored with a graduation party last Tuesday evening in the Gerry Hettermann home. Both girls were in the St. John's graduating class. Joining in the buffet supper were the John Herdrich family and Fran Mayfield of McHenry, the Bowe family of Woodstock, Dick and Connie Marshall, Bill May. the Gerald Wakitsch and the Dick Ru- SPRING GROVE NEWS EVA FREUND 678-7135 FAREWELL PABTY IS GIVEN FOR REV. WILSON His last worship service was given by Rev. Ralph Wilson at Spring Grove Methodist church on Sunday, June 13. A farewell party was given for Pastor Wilson and his family in the church house on that day. His new assignment is in the Harmon and Nelson churches in the DeKalb district. Rev. Louis Hillendahl. a graduate of Scarrett eoHege, Nashville, Tenn., will take over the duties of Spring Grove church as well as Ingleside. He has been in Florida. One year ago he, his wife and two children returned from Southern Rhodesia, where he was in the mission field. They will reside in the parsonage in Ingleside. A dinner was given in the Delbert Kephart on Wednesday evening in his honor. Members of the church were present to meet the new pastor and his family. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. every Sunday in Spring Grove. Hudson-Freund Nuptials Miss Caroline Hudson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hudson, became the bride of Jack Freund, son of Mi's. Florence Freund. in an evening ceremony at Spring, Grove Methodist church on I Saturday, June 12. The groom is employed at International Register Co. The newlyweds are living in Pistakee Estates. Visitors and Vacationers SFC. 'Edwin S. Klein and family have returned to Fort Sill, Okla , following a ten-day visit with his mother, Mrs. Mary Klein. Rev. Nicholas Freund, SDS. flew back to San Francisco Saturday r ight. He has been vacationing here, in Wisconsin and Iowa for the past three weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Freund entertained in their home on Friday night in honor of their Wedding anniversary. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. George Freund, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Michels, Barbara and Sue Gerasch, Martha Thennes, all of McHenry, and Mrs. Agnes May. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Lent and Mr. and Mrs. Allen Pierce enjoyed a trip to northern Wisconsin this week. Installation Ceremony The ceremony for the installation of the new pastor for St. Peter's parish will be held in St. Peter's church on Sunday afternoon, June 27 at 3:30. Monsignor Healey 'of Harvard, the Dean of McHenry Deanery will officiate at this service. Citil> Meets Mrs. Josephine May entertained the 500 club at her home on Thursday afternoon. Society .Meets The Chiistian Mothers Society of St. Peter's held their regular meeting in the parish hall on Thursday night. The newly appointed committee chairmen were introduced by- President Eva Freund. Mrs. Frances Heineman, Organization and Development; Mrs. Pauline Horak, Family and Education, Mrs. Geraldine Schultz. Rural Life: Mrs. Beverly Schmitt, Public Relations; Airs. Cath.Mine Kagan will continue as Spiritual Development Chairman. A thank you was extended tc all outgoing officers and past committee chairmen. Mrs. Vein Thelen gave simr excellent ideas on a Christmas bazaar. An interesting talk was given by- Fat her Lehman and he thanked -ill the members for their spleiuiid cooperation'during the five years he was their pastor. The victim suffered amputation of part of his toe. He was taken to the McHenry hospital in the Johnsburg Rescue Squad ambulance. Entertainment Galore Mr. and Mrs. Joe Smith were happy to have as their guests'last Sunday'her son and family, the Bob Zimmermanns of Beloit. On Tuesday, Mrs. Smith made a trip to Milwaukee, where she attended a dinner party given by a cousin. While there she enjoyed a visit with her aunt, who resides in Milwaukee.
