Everyone is invited to bring all their kin along and enjoy the morning meal out. The boys will be on hand to serve you from 7 in the morning until 1 P.M. You and your family can go to church together and then go there for breakfast. Bring your appetites along as it will be an "all you can eat" affair. Furlough Spent at Home Pvt. Rudy Fischer of Jak- «Ana Heights finished b a s i c training at Fort Knox, Ky., in O c t o b e r a n d c a m e h o m e t o spend his 12- day furlough. Following his visit with his parents, Rudy and Marge, he reported to El Paso, Texas, where he works at headquarters in the classification and assignment department at Fort Bliss. The Fischers were very happy when he called them on Thanksgiving Day. Rudy reports that the weather is beautiful-- sun shines every day and temperature hits well into the TO's. (Make us a little envious.) Sodality Holds Christmas Party The officers and members of the Blessed Virgin Sodality will gather in the Community Club hall on Tuesday evening, Dec. 14, for their yearly Christmas party. Members who plan to attend are asked to bring a dish to pass, a dollar exchange gift and something for our good S i s t e r s ' k i t c h e n s h o w e r . T h e pot-luck supper will start the evenings festivities a 6:30 p.m. If you are a member why not plan on joining in on this preholiday fun. Thanksgiving Doings , The Chuck Hillers were in Minnesota for the Thanksgiving holiday and the following weekend to spend time visiting Pam's mother and other relatives. Marge and Rudy Fischer had a typical holiday feast at their home on the "Turkey Day" when they entertained Mr. and Mrs. John Murray and son, Bruce, and Mr. and Mrs. Art Richter. The entire Hettermann clan were present in our home on the holiday. The Richard Dehn family and Bill May and isons, Richard and Harry, as well and Harry's fiancee, Marilyn, enjoyed the hospitality of the Art Kattners in Spring Grove. Earlier in the day, Harry and Marilyn had dinner with some of her former neighbors in Lombard. On the way back to school in Missouri, Harry dropped M&rilyn off in Peoria where she teaches school. Ricky Wakitsch was home for the long weekend to spend the holiday with his family, the Gerry Wakitsches. He attends St. Mary's minor seminary in Crystal Lake. Mary, Sandy, Jean and Mike Hettermann had their Thanksgiving dinner with her father in McHenry along with other family members. Joel Himpelmann may have had to spend Thanksgiving Day in Fort Knox, Ky., but he did manage to get home to spend the weekend with his family. Sheer Delight That's exactly what the very young KimJberly Ann Jacques is to her parents, Joe and Judy. The Jacques family was made complete wheri Kimberly came to make her home with them recently. Nothing in the English language can explain the happiness that Joe and Judy are experiencing now. Their new daughter was born on Nov. 14 and weighed a most "petite 5 lbs^ 2 ozs. at birth. This young lady was baptized in St. John's church last Sunday afternoon a 2 o'clock. Her godparents were Sandy Nellis and Ken Townsend, friends of the family. Judy served dinner to the sponsors while later all the relatives were present in the Jacques home for a buffet supper. This is the third grandchild for the Leo Michels. Our very best wishes to Joe and Judy for many, many more years of happiness with their daughter, which we are all sure they will have. Hapy Birthday Wishes To Ronnie Himpelmann who celebrated his seventh natal day on Nov. 29. Basketball Notes Both the Varsity and the Junior Varsity of St. John's won their games over St. Margaret's of Algonquin last Sunday in the public school gym. We are sorry to say our Johnsburg town team lost to Marengo on Sunday by a 87- 82 score. On Dec. 7 our team will travel to Algonquin to oppose the local team there. Game time is 8 p.m. Try to get out and see as much basketball as is possible. The fellows really appreciate your rooting. There are decorations to put up, shopping to be done, cookies to bake and parties, parties, parties. The first to be held locally is a cookie party. Tomorrow evening will find a group of women gathered at the Mahon home to exchange cookies and recipies. Taking a container of will return with the same numof cookies with, each will returne with the same number of cookies but with a big variety. Next Wednesday, Dec. 8, will find the Wiman's Club gathered at the ranch house for their annual Christmas party. Each woman is to bring two gifts, one for a $1 gift exchange and the other complete nonsense to add fun to the evening's festivities. PINK BUNDLE A lovely little pink bundle arrived seven weeks early at Harvard hospital at 12:56 on Nov. 25, Thanksgiving Day. Kimberly Marie Howard is the first child of Jerry and Carol (Slusher) Howard and the g r a n d a u g h t e r o f C h a r l e s a n d Ruby Slusher of Driftwood Drive. Weighing only 3 lbs. and 8 ozs., Kimberly was transferred to a hospital in Peoria where she will get the special' care a teeny one her size requires. An interesting note--her father,- Jerry, was born on Thanksgiving Day 27 years ago. Our congratulations to the Howards and Slushers!! CUB SCOUT MEETINGS The Cub Scouts now have 3 dens--one den meets at the Connell home with Helen Perkins as den mother and Marge Connell assisting, another den has Gerry Minter as den mother with Barbara Krause assisting and the third has Mae White a s d e n m o t h e r a n d G e r r y Breede assisting, however, Mae will not be able to take over at the present time, so Shirley Haufe has volunteered to pinch hit for a while. The next pack meeting will be the annual Christmas party at the Ranch House on Dec. 16. The boys are busy working on their Christmas projects.
