THOMAS HAUCK This pretty bride is the former Christine Zielinski, daughter of Mrs. Patricia Zielinski of 907 W. Edgewood drive, McHenry. She was married to Mr. Thomas Hauck, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hauck of 5513 N. Lake street, McHenry, in a lovely ceremony performed at St. John the Baptist church on Nov. 20 at 3 p.m. Attending the couple were Gretchen Schmeglitz of McHenry as maid of honor and Bonnie Hauck of Chicago, cousin of the groom, as bridesmaid; William Hauck, the groom's brother, as best man and Phil Harris of McHenry as groomsman. ^ The newlyweds enjoyed a wedding trip to Pennsylvania and are making their home in MrHenrv. Both young people are graduales of McHenry high school, the bride in 1965 and the groom in '64. She is employed at Hornsby's and he is attending barber college in Chicago. • LOCAL CAMPERS HOLD CHRISTMAS PARTY DEC. 19 The regular meeting of the Millstream Campers will be held Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m. at Freund Campers, McHenry jPlans for the annual Christmas party to be held Sunday, Dec.' 19, will be discussed. KIWAXIS DEBATE An unusually large crowd of Kiwanians were present Monday noon at the weekly luncheon meeting of the club. Highlight of the day was a debate, climaxing many weeks of preparation, on the anti-poverty p r o g r a m . M e m b e r s e n j o y e d hearing the "pros" discussed by Maurice Clark and Dr. B. I. Christ the King Catholic church at Wonder Lake was the setting for a lovely wed'- ding on Saturday, Nov. 27, when Miss Lois Rice, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Rice of 7215 Seminole drive. Wonder Lake, exchanged nuptial vows' with Mr. Dennis Dalby, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nels Dalby of 2110 N. Richmond road, McHenry. Rev. Fr. James, Vanderpool officiated at the 3 o'clock ceremony, for which Mrs. Broehl played the organ for vocal solos by Mrs. Jacqueline Shau. Bouquets of white mums and snapdragons with blue trim decorated the altar. Given in marriage by her father, the pretty bride approached the altar wearing a chantilly type lace gown with fitted bodice and long, tapered sleeves. The skirt was flat in front, with back and side fullness forming a chapel length train. Her three-tiered bouffant veil of English silk illusion was held in place by a crown of lace, pearls and crystals. Her only jewelry was a pearl necklace and earring set. Miss Rice carried a cascade bouquet of miniature white carnations with inner corsage of Amazon lilies. Acting as matron of honor was Nancy Regelin of Wonder, a close friend of the bride, who selected a floor length gown of velvet and crepe with hat to match. The bridesmaids were Rebecca Dalby of McHenry, sister of the groom, Joan Dunn of Oak Park and Marge O'Brien of Chicago, cousins of the bride. Jane Rice of Wonder Lake, sister of the bride, was junior bridesmaid. They were attired in floor length gowns of velvet and crepe with matching hats and carried crescent corsages of white mums with blue accents. Gary Hunt of Wonder Lake served the groom as best man and groomsmen were Ron Zank of McHenry, Dick Boldt and Bud Regelin, both of Wonder Lake. All are friends of the groom. Mrs. Rice wore a two-piece dress of champagne beige brocade trimmed with rhinestones and pearls. -Her accessories were in brown and she had a bronze pom pom corsage. Mrs. Dalby wore a royal blue dress of silk with matching hat, black accessories and a white pom pom corsage. The bride is a 1965 graduate of Marian Central high school and the groom graduated in 1964 from McHenry high school. She is employed at the Admiral plant in McHenry and her husband is a production expediter for Oak Manufacturing Co. Karen Bailey And Thomas Roti To Wed KAREN BAILEY Mr. and Mrs. Clyde H. Bailey announce the engagement of their daughter, Karen, to Thomas J. Roti, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rocco Roti of Wonder Lake. Karen is a graduate of McHenry high school and of Northern Illinois university in 1964. She is now teaching at Forest View high school in Arlington Heights. Her fiance graduated from McHenry high school and in 1963 from Quincy college. He is a sales representative for a leading laboratories. The young couple have set July 2 for their wedding date. Miss -Justen Is Engaged To Wed SALLY ANN JUSTEN Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Justen have announced the engagement of their daughter, Sally Ann, to John Weideman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Thiel of Streamwood. No immediate date has been set for the wedding. Bernadette Hoppe Engaged To Marry BERNADETTE HOPPE Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hoppe, of Eastwood Manor announce the engagement of their daughter, Bernadette, to Stanley Groth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Groth of Franklin Park. Miss Hoppe is a 1965 graduate of McHeny high school. No definite wadding date has been set. McHENRY GIRL IS ELECTED TO HONOR SOCIETY Mary Jane Pitzen is one of 23 students at Whitewater State university recently elected to Kappa Delta Pi, national education honor society. To be nominated for membership, the student must be an education major, and, if a junior, have a 3.2 scholarship average (based on a 4.00 system) or, if a senior., a 3.00 aver^ge^ and must have no "D" cmrecord. It is their intention to provide a similar service for Christmas trays and on other special holidays throughout the year. Junior directors in charge of the girls are Mrs. Loretta Freund, Mrs. Joan Buss ami- Mrs. Helen Rodenkirch. / Members meet .the__J£<?"nd Thursday of each month in St. Mary's gym from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Following an exercise session which is first on the agenda, the girls participate in mission or charity work such as they* did for the hospital. Christmas Program The Big.Hollow school P.T.A. will enjoy a Christmas program on Wednesday, Dec. 8, at 8 p.m. at the school. The program for the evening will include songs by the SNyeet Adelines. There will be a fifty-cent grab bag exchange, with the men to buy a gift suitable for a man and the women to buy a lady's gift. Hostesses will be sixth grade mothers. The meat and fish courses will be provided by the committee of the day,,, ably headed by Mrs. Herbert Engdahl, chairman. T h e p r o g r a m p r e s e n t e d b y JJauline Esdale will be an illustrated narration on "Birds of the B i b 1 e". Mrs. Esdale is a most versatile speaker and has appeared at many club, .civic and church groups to rave notices. She comes here from Chicago. Her knowledge of birds, their lives and habits, and her reproduction of their calls is an experience long to be remembered. This Christmas program has been planned for the club by Mrs. G. T. Snively, conservation division chairman. The club has been asked to p a r t i c i p a t e i n " O p e r a t i o n C h r i s t m a s C o o k i e " a g a i n t h i s year. As an Eleventh district project of the Illinois Federation of Women's clubs, cookies are supplied to the reception and diagnostic center in Joliet e a c h C h r i s t m a s . T h e c e n t e r houses 150 to 250 boys placed there mainly by the family court. They remain for an average of three weeks for diagnosis and treatment and are hopefully placed in an environment conducive to further correction thereafter. Members wishing to share a bit of Christmas with these young boys are asked to bring a pound coffee tin of their homemade cookies to the meeting. Used playing cards, good children's books, magazines and games are also most welcome. Mrs. George F. Kleinhans, education division chairman, will be most happy to accept all items donated. All will be delivered to Joliet in time for Christmas. COMPLETES ASSIGNMENT Northern Illinois university's 254 student teachers have completed their nine-week student teaching assignments and have returned to campus. Among them was Maurice Casey of 401 N. Country, McHenry. MILLSTREAMLINERS OUNCE MORE; GUEST SPEAKERS" Mrs. Jean Gagnon of McHenry hospital gave an interesting talk to the Millstreamliners Tops club recently, speaking on correct diet, eating habits and cooking for a dieter and the entire family. A question and answer session fyllowed. Her talk was so much enjoyed that members are looking forward to a return visit. In the near future the club will have as gu6st, a doctor who will discuss weight problems and why ^Wie overeats; also an insurance agent who will speak on whty overweight people are a • poor insurance risk. Millstreamliners TOPS meets every Monday at 7:30 at McHenry -high school. "There are a few openings at this time. Anyone interested in obtaining more information about National TOPS.
