Mariitou trai' M^Henrv. has completed Marine recruit training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, Calif. He has been assigned to Camp Pendleton, Calif., for four weeks of individual combat training and four weeks of basic specialist training in his miJitary occupational field. Marine Private First Class Raymond McCann, son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond P. McCann of 7725 Island lane, Wonder Lake, is serving in the Hue/ Phu Bai sector of Viet Nam with the 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines, an infantry regiment of the 3rd Marine division. He arrived in Viet Nam with his battalion in September. The 2nd Battalion is a part of the Seventh Fleet's Special Landing force. Since arriving in Viet Nam, the unit has participated in several' major operations against the Viet Cong. These include Operations, "Highland", "Blue Marlin", "Dagg er Thrust" and" "Harvest Moon". Dagger Thurst involved five major operations. Pvt. Charles S. Pusateri, son of Charles F. Pusateri, Route 9, McHenry, completed a radio teletype operation course at the Army Southeastern Signal school, Fort Gordon, Ga., Jan. 21. During the - eleven weeks of training, Pusateri learned to operate radio transmitting and receiving sets, using both voice and International Morse Code communication in combination with teletype writer equipment. Pusateri was last stationed at Fort Knox, Ky. STATE GENERAL ASSEMBLY FILM MADE AVAILABLE Secretary of State Paul Powell has reminded Illinois school principals, teachers of American government classes, civic club leaders, political organizations officers and persons in similar positions that the film, "Speaker of the House: The Legislative Process," is available for showing to their groups without charge. The film presents a day in the life of the Speaker, from his arrival at the Capitol in the morning to his departure 12 hours later. It emphasizes the volume and range of the more than 2,000 pieces of legislation he must guide through the House from introduction to passage, and illustrates the necessity for him to work closely with party leaders, constituents, press, committees, lobbyists and the Governor. Jan. 27, 1966) SET DEADLINE FOR REPORTS ON TARDY PENSIONS Just a few days remain for several thousand tardy Illinois pension recipients to return the income questionnaires they received from the Veterans Administration along with their November checks. If the annual report hasn't been filed with VA by Feb. 1, suspension of the monthy pension is automatic, John B. Naser, manager of the Veterans Administration Regional office in Chicago, has warned. VA needs the annual income report to determine if the pension should be changed or discontinued on the basis of outside income which is limited by law. Punch card questionnaires were sent to 100,704 veterans or their beneficiaries in Illinois and three northern counties of Indiana, Mr. Naser said.
