Woman's Club Meeting Next Thursday, March 3, at & :30 p.m., the Lakeland Park Woman's club will meet at the .community house. We had such a nice turn out at our last meeting, it would be nice if we could do the same this month. If you don't want to come by yourself, talk to your neighbor. The more, the merrier. Hockey News - The Vikings lost to the Mc- Cullom Lake BlackHawks by a score of 9 to 3. The scorers for the Vikings were, Ken Prazak with two goals and Frostie Viita with ons goal. George Piccole, our goalie, had forty saves. Lakeland Park Girl Scout Troop 320 This week instead of having our regular meeting, we had a Valentine's party and we invited the Brownies. The hostesses took their coats and pinned their names on their uniforms. Then we played, "Get A c q u a i n t e d " , " T h e F l y i n g putches", Fruit Basket Upset" and Ruth and Jacob". The Brpwnies thanked us and we cleaned up and went home. Respectfully submitted, Alana Hendricks. It's Cooky Time The girls from Girl Scout Troop 320 will be knocking on doors again for their annual cooky sale. They will be taking orders beginning Friday, Feb. 25, for one week only. Deliveries will be made from March 30 through April 3. This year no re-orders will be taken. It has been suggested that people wanting cookies can freeze what ever can't be eaten in a reasonable time. They have excellent freezing qualities and the cookies are among the better varieties. There will be a whole month between order and delivery to save for watever number is desired. The profit from the cooky sale stays in our own neighborhood council. This money is used for the care and maintenance of the camps which are operated by the council. Chapman Hills in Wisconsin will be used by our own troop three times this year at no cost to the girls for use. Our troop portion will be used for a trip to the Dells in June. The girls are really eager to make a good showing as they are the ones who will benefit most by it. DO your good deed and help the Scouts. Boy Scouts Troop 159 A Boy Scout Parents night is scheduled at the community house at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 28. This pageant is when the boys obtain the awards they worked so hard for. Every parent should attend this meeting as it should be lots of fun. One more reminder is to keep those letters, books and magazines rolling to your scout leaders or nearby scouts for the boys in Viet Nam. Respectfully submitted, Billy Eckart, scribe. Lakeland Park Couples Bowling Saturday, Feb. 26-Js our night for bowling and I'm sure Joe Prazak hopes that he is as hot as he. was last bowling night. Thst night, he bowled a 650 series with handicap to knock Harold Jones out with his 638. Ted Kaminski still is high with his 600 scratch and I with my 500 scratch and Carole Ketchum with a 640 series with handicap. Speaking of Carole, she was unable to bowl last time because of a broken finger. We certainly hope this won't keep her out of the rest of the season. Another casualty on the bowling team was Helen Jones who had been down with bursitis in her hip. Hope you are well enough to finish out the bowling season Helen. 4-H Club Saturday, Feb. 5, the Lake- ' land Merry Makers 4-H met at • the community house at 9:30 - a.m. There was a new member * that joined, Lynn Steinsdoerfer. That young man who has been so busy about our little store is with his Gramps and Grandma Edward Eddy who is visiting for a while. With all his good training, he's going to be able to mind the stores pretty soon. The Foszcz family and the Humanns bumped into each other in Chicago on Sunday while attending the vacation show. Long way to go for a visit. While there, Don Humann met his brother and family unexpectedly too. Small world as they say. Glad to hear that Kim Cynowa is much better after a bout with just plain being sick. A few needles at the doctor's office turned the trick and let her get back into the swing. Ray and Carol Cynowa had a lovely evening out last Saturday starting with dinner. The occasion was a belated celebration of Carol's birthday. Mrs. Chamblin, Nedra Eckhart's mom, is back, for a visit with her family and many friends. They enjoyed a day of pinochle and Helen's favorite recipes. Champ, Bud Walker's favorite four-legged friend, took a walk last week and hasn't found his way back home yet. In case you think you have seen him, he is a large Springer Spaniel, and very friendly, especially with children. He has lovely brown spots on his white coat and left his collar home.
