A Welcome Mama Patula went to O'Hare Airpprt to pick up her aunt from Tulsa, Okla., "who will have a long visit with the Patula family. A horse today and a pil- Jow tomorrow. Whispering Hills Louise Giel Florence Weber was thrilled to spend a weekend with her sister, Dorothy, who lives in Brookfield. They decided to drive to Kewanee, HI., to visit with some very dear friends. They then went on to Peoria, as this is Florence's home tpwn. A visit to their parents' grave and since they hadri't been back for at least three years they had to give the town the once over. - Three years is a short time but lots of time to see many changes. Driving back it was pretty stormy and tornados all, around but Florence came home smiling as she had such a wonderful time. All youths of Eastwood Manor are most welcome to attend. The big night's doings will start promptly at 7 p.m., at the barn .There will be threee cartoons and an excellent feature movie. After the movies, we will have a refreshment break and at 9 p.m. sharp ,the very popular dance band from Mt. Prospect, who have added on a bass player, will entertain the dance set.c Any boy or girl who Wishes to bring a date from outside the Manor may do so! And the best part of this Youth Night, as far as cost is- ebneerned, is that it is all free! Yes, you read correctly, it's all free! Let's have a good turnout as this is for you and if you wish to have more evenings planned, such as the evening of June 11, please try and attend! All parents are most cordially invited and the committee would like to know what the parents think about this project and what can be planned for the future. Don't forget the date, June 11, at 7 p.m. at the Barns. E.M.P.O.A. News The May meeting had as its highlight, a very informative movie on' our mosquito abatement program. Mr. King, who represented the spraying company, also answered all questions on the program. He showed a detailed route' of the spraying truck and how they propose to treat the slough! Also discussed was the building of our new backstop at the baseball field at the barns. The current need is for 1" or 1W pipe for supports. If anyone knowns where some used piping can be acquired, please contact Dick Hawkins, 385-5106. The backstop should be finished by the middle of June, and all the youthful baseball players are looking forward to its construction. Another important matter came up concerning the library in Lakemoor. This is our library and should be supported to the utmost. If anyone has any books, please give them to any officer of E.M.P.O.A. and they will be forwarded to the library. Db not forget to get your library card before the summer is long gone! Rummage Sale The time is drawing very close to E.M.P.O.A.'s annual rummage sale. The date again is June 4 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and the place is the Eastwood Manor barns. The articles for sale have been coming in very nicely but we still need any saleable items you have around "the house and wish to donate! Call any member or officer of E.M.P.O.A. and they will have someone pick up your items at your convenience. So don't wait till the last moment!!. Look around the house and I am sure you can find all types of goodies for the sale! It is for a good cause and it is your help and support which will make this fund-raising rummage sale a success ! Hospital Notes Ray Klein's mother has been seriously ill in McHenry hospital and we all hope for a very speedy recovery. Odds and Ends Dick and Lydia Fenner with their two children, Cary and Cheryl and friends, Emil and Anita Rhoton, had a very exciting Saturday night! "Riey all journeyed to Wilmot, Wis., to watch the stock car races. There were thrills and spills aplenty and the children were quite thrilled! Lydia also attended a demonstration at Dorothy Weichman's home Tuesday. This has been a busy week for the Fenners. Mrs. Robert Mitchell attended a family brunch Wednesday in Oak Park, at her mother's home, Mrs. Emma Hill. Invited were Mrs. Hill's daughter and her daughters-in-law, Mrs. Ellen Hill, Maryianne Hill and Helen Ann Hill and Mrs. Lynn Hill. The Jerry Ryans were host to Lois's father and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Lynn from Margate, Fla. Mr. and Mrs. R. S Anderson. Lois's sister and her husband, were also on hand, and both couples enjoyed a joint wedding anniversary celebration while at the Ryans. Lois Ryan also had a demonstration on Tuesday. Attending in all their spring finery were Mrs. Betty King, Mrs. Jean Mersch, Mrs. Helen Penick, Mrs. Gail Crokin, Mrs. John French, Mrs. Tootsie Gardner, Mrs. Corky Elmgreen, Mrs. Marion Anderson and Mrs. Pat Rehber&. They all, enjoyed -the--display and Lois served an excellent coffee cake. Elmer .and Pat Borcovan spent Sunday at the Viscounts' weekend band practice at St, Francis C.Y.O. facilities in Libertyvill^. Other Manorites acting as jchaperones were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dethlefson. At approximately"5 7 a.m. seventy hungry Viscounts were ready to haye a hearty breakfast and Elmer and Pat cooked and later in the day, enjoyed the Viscount practice. It was a complete and' wonderful day Joe-all Birthdays Russell Davis and Alcord celebrate their ^ffirt^aays on June 4 .Albert Biancm and Phil Krebs will enjoy their big day on June 5.
