Swimming Lessons Begin Monday Swimming lessons will begin this coming Monday at the lake beach. Each year the Holiday Hills Woman's Club contacts a qualified Red Cross instructor and sets up the schedule of classes. During the time that lessons are being given, residents «are asked liot to use the beach or to send down children who are not in class. Our aim is to teach every child to swim and to teach them respect for this recreational facility which we are privileged to have here. Lest we have a tragedy here, teach your child to swim. The party was such fun that some of the mwent back and co'rltblued the celebration on Sunday. Spaghetti Dinner The Griswold Lake Athletic Club will hold a spaghetti dinner soon. Charley who is home frpm College helped make his visit worth while. Edy Tello from Chicago and his lovely wife and daughter spent the weekend with his ma and pa on Riverview drive. The Rich Fredericks had a house full of company and by all indications it appeared they were sure' living it up. Pat and her Patty from Clarendon Hills paid a visit with the old gal - you know who. She is a busy person these days getting son, Jimmy, off to attend -Oxford university in E n g l a n d f o r t h e s u m m e r months. Aunt Laura's sister Agnes from the big city came out for the weekend and the two of them managed to take in a couple of shows and ate some good food at their favorite restaurants in McHenry. They also paid a visit with, the Smith boys, Ted and Jerry, in Sunnyside Beach. Passes On It-was quite a shock to the villagers when our dear neighbor, William Miller died so suddenly. He had surgery in McHenry hospital o na Wednesday and passed away several days later. Survivors were his mother, Mrs. Delfeld, of Sunnyside. The village folks offer their condolence to his dear mother and other relatives. Graduation Party Mrs. Prokop spent a few days in Indiana with her sister. The big attraction was a celebration given for her niece's graduation. When Mr. Prokop picked her up there were more celebrations which were enjoyed by many more relatives who joined them. Michele Dougherty graduated from N.I.U. last week and will further her studies in Middleberry, Vermont, this summer. A party was given in her honor at her home with many relatives, friends and neighbors. > Preparations All our young mothers are getting ready to entertain their little ones for the summer months - such as picnicking, horse back riding, swimming, etc. ' •*$ Outdoor activities are dangerous so please be extra careffil because it sure would be grand if all the little ones will be back at their desks in September. PHOTO SHOW FEATURE OF '66 ART FAIR A photography show Will again be included in the McHenry Country Art Fair to be held June 17, 18 and 19 at the McHenry junior high school Cecil Kanter and pebo Buralli, Jr., of McHenry are co-chair* men. Mr. Kanter states that "Photography is an art form, and this show will give photographers the opportunity to display their artistic talent." The show is open to any "photo bug" -- amateur, semiprofessional or professional photographer who is a resident of McHenry county. The deadline date is June 10. Four professional photographers in the county have already registered. There are no limitations as to subject matter or number of prints. They may be any size and must be mounted. Judges will be Evelyn Robbins of "Chicago, head of Chicago Area Camera Clubs asso* ciation; Fred Fix of North"! brook, donor of Fred Fix - si Photograph scholarship; and Mrs. Margaret Coneely, well known for her stereo work. Mrs. Coneely is registrar pf Loyola university and has won a number of international awards. Trophies and ribbons will be presented to winners. The yearly reports show that enrollment in the training center has risen to seven students and to eight in the workship. Keefer, Mrs. Margaret Kellner, Mrs. Roger Stilling, Mrs. Eleanor Hushka, Mrs. T. J. Meehan, Mrs. Robert Covalt, Mrs. Lorraine Pitzen, Mrs. Lucille Fanning and Mrs. Dorothy Pitzen. A rummage sale will be held on July 7 and 8 in the Zion Litheran church of McHenry, with Mrs. William Pierce in charge. All members are asked to collect, rummage and help during the sale time. A picnic will be held on Tuesday, June 7, at Veterans Acres, Crystal Lake, as a closing activity for the training center; Teachers, students, volunteers, and all the association is welcome 1for the fun by bringing a large dish to pass. An election of new board ipembers resulted in the election of ' Mrs. Arthur Pears, Rod Shiveley and Dr. Benjamin Joshel of Crystal Lake, Edward Guettler of McHenry and Walter Patzke ' of McCullom Lake to the board. Yoder, director, Illinois Department of Public Health, has announced that, based on department recommendations, five hospitals in the state have been determined eligible to participate in the health insurance program for the aged (Medicare). The five hospitals are: Evanston hospital, Evanston; St. Joseph hospital, Joliet; Alton Memorial hospital, Alton; St. Francis hospital, Macomb, and Herrin Hospital, Herrin. Their particip a t i o n . i n t h e p r o g r a m was made official when the Social Security Administration signed an agreement with each of the institutions. The Medicare program goes into effect July 1. Nearly all hospitals that .serve adult patients in Illinois how have filed requests for certification with the department.
