Any member wishing to participate in this fun day should be sure to pick up ay permission slip for their parents signature from either LuAnn \Smith or Joan Freund as soon as possible. Slips must be returned by July 31. This year the dirt ectors are going to try something different in regards to the food. Girls attending the picnic will not have to bring their, own hamburgers or hot dogs, neither will they have to bring, a dish to pass. The directors are taking care of all the menu planning. Eaoh girl will have to pay a small fee to defray .the food cost though. Please pick up your slips now and get them h£ck in so you won't be left out of -this big fun-filled day . Remember. the date is Aug. 3 for all you members who are interested in going along. Hospital Patients Mrs. Delia Miller is once again a patient at the McHenry hospital. She was taken there by ambulance one night last week. I'm sure she would be most happy to hear fromJher many friends during her confinement. I understand that Art Stilling is a patient at the same hospital. He underwent surgery sometime last week and by now should be feeling a little more "chipper". Visitors From Ohio Ofope Again As is sort of a summer custom in the home of Arnie and Clara Michels, visitors from Ohio and sometimes other parts of the .country come and go. It . is. a big thrill for. the Michels family to V have their relatives drop in on them throughout the summer months. This past week Mr. and Mrs. Florian La Fontaine of * New Regal, Ohio, were their guests. While here the La Fontaines spent time with ofhesr .relatives and friends also. Their son, Dayid Alan, was born in the Sherman hospital in Elgin and weighed a healthy 8 lbs. 5 oz. There is a big sister waiting at home just dying to get acquainted with her new brother. Martin and Rosina Weber became grandparents once again on July 20. Their daughter and husband, Bob and Elaine Otis of Crystal Lake, welcomed a daughter who weighed almost 8 lbs. at birth. They also have a son, Bobby, whb is a little over one year old. Our very best wishes for future happiness to these two young couples and their new additions. People On The Go Father Claver Smith, who has been our summer priest here at St. John's is unable to be here this year, due to the fact that his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Smith, are visiting with him for several weeks in Rome, Italy. Father Smith is sorely missed by his aunt and uncle, Kate and G e o r g e T u s s e y , and g o o d friends, the Fred Heinzes and the Roy McCarthys. There are also many, many other friends too numerous to mention that will feel Father Smith's absence. Here's hoping Father will be with us again next year. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Lee and daughters, Nancy and Georgia, of Chicago, were Saturday afternoon visitors in the home of Frank and Agnes Freund. Bob and Joan Freund and Debbie j ust returned after spending a week fishing in Turtle Lake, Wis. The Joe Floods, the., Ray Fitzgeralds and the Roy McCarthys celebrated the birthday of Mr. Fitzgerald in the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Tussey over last weekend. News From A Recuperating Patient The many interested friends of Mrs. Jeppe Jepsen Will be happy to know she is on the mend following surgery at the Highland Park hospital. It will be^nquite a long recuperation but with her stamina, I'm sure she will come through with "flying colors". Since her release from the hospital, Mrs. Jepsen has been staying with her daughter, Lola, in Highland Park. The hours will hang heavy for her so why not drop her a card and send along a few words of good cheer. Her address is 2222 Highmoor Road Highland Park, 111. will be an "old man" of $ur on Aug. 12V . V - Aug. 18 Terry Kruger will enter her teens. Many happy returns of the day to these and all, the other August celebrants. Little Lynnette Dust observed her second birthday last Sunday by being the "center of attraction" at a party held in her home. Joining in on the festivities were her, parents, Bill and Sharon, both sets of grandparents, the Arthur Dusts and the Jacob Thiels, as well as the Ron Callahan family, the Norman Dust family, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Schumann, Tom Thiel and Sandi Nellis. Anniversary Coming Up Very special wishes to Rudy and Marge Fischcr of Mehring Avenue, who will be celebrating another wedding anniversary oh Aug. 3. Showers Honor Bride-To-Be Marilyn Smith, daughter of Walter and Millie Smith, of Spring Grove Road, was the victim of not one, but. two -sijrprises last week. On Wednesday evening she was guest of honor at a. pre-nuptial shower given in the home of Shirley Gherke in Woodstock. About fifteen girjs with Whom Marilyn works were on hand to bestow gifts for future use in her home. Lunch was enjoyed by all those present after the opening of many beautiful gifts., On Sunday afternoon surprise caught up with Marilyn again. Marilyn will become the bride of Jim Hester of McHenry, in St. John's church on Aug. 13. Plans were made to have a luau Aug. 13. Alyce Kowel received the special award. Refreshments were served by the College of Regent committee.
