Some of the people who have been traveling around are the Joe Ko* berstines who spent last weekend in Troy, Mich., with their daughter and family, the Carl Olsons. Mrs. Flo Freund has just returned from a two week vacation sightseeing in Phoenix, Ariz., and visiting her sister and family, the A. E. Sneiders. Mrs. Robert Sneider returned home with Flo for a visit here. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Tinney from California visited his mother, Mame Tinney, the past week. Jack, his wife, Mame and her grandchildren Lora Lee, Patty and Sherri, all enjoyed a boat ride one day through the Chain of Lakes. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Parfrey and family of Alexandria, Va., are visiting relatives here and vacationing in Wisconsin. Miss Harriet Searles and Miss Esther Waldo jof Lansing, Mich., ar^ here for the summer at their home in Colemar Subdivision. They also spent some time visiting relatives in Galesburg. Callers in the home of their cousin Mrs. Minnie Pierce were Miss Edna Am born who is a teacher at Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Mrs. Alta Lemmerhirt of Hebron. Mrs. Kenneth Lopeman and daughter from Hebron were visitors in the Alice Stevens home Friday night. Others who called were Mr. and Mrs. Ben Winn and Mr. and Mrs. William Shotliff. Mrs. Elizabeth Brisch and niece of Chicago spent the weekend at their summer home. Visitors in the home of Mrs. Ed Panknih last week were her niece and family, Mr. and Mrs. William Bruce, and son of Peoria. Mourn Area Deaths We were sorry to hear of the death of Mary L. "Mollie" Harms, who passed away at Twin Lakes on July 13. Funeral services were held on Saturday at Ehorn Funeral Home. Our sympathies are extended to Mrs. John Sanborn at the loss of her brother Arthur Huff, who passed away in Northlake hospital, Chicago, following an illness of long duration. Art was a former Spring Grove resident having spent his childhood and young manhood here. He moved to Chicago and had lived there "about forty years. Mr. and Mrs. Sanborn attended his funeral in Chicago on Wednesday, July 20. family of Jacksonville!, Fla., were visitors in the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Smith last week. Servicemen Home Michael Sanders, son of Air. and Mrs. George Sanders, is home on a twenty day leave from Camp Pendleton, Calif. He has just completed basic training in artillery fire control. He reports next to Camp Legune, N. C. Conducts Services Rev. James McKea of Evanston conducted services in the Methodist church Sunday. The pastor, Rev. Louis HiUendahl, and Mrs. Hillendahl are on vacation. Shop In Mcffaffy HOLIDAY HILLS NEWS INEZ YOUNG AREA SADDENED BY TRAGIC DEATH OF YOUNG FATHER The entire community is saddened by the tragic death of Wally Foreman on Sunday, July 17. It is difficult to put into words just what one feels at a time like this. Engaged in a community service, as he so often was, Wally was cutting weeds in an empty lot when he fell off the tractor. Heartfelt sympathy is extended to Arlene and the children, Joey, Rosemary, Nancy, Estelle, Walter, Sally and Donald. spent a most enjoyable evening recently when they attended their 10 year class reunion from Arlington Heights. The affair was held at a country club in Itaska. Prizes were given for the couple with the most children, the one most newly married, the one who came the longest distance , and others to make it fun for aQ in attendance. A queen was selected and Alice was awarded first runner up for class reunion queen. Congratulations! The menu ineluded poi, 'kalua pig' (steamed, underground) squid and seaweed, among other things. Hie other evening, we were guests of a Mr. and Mrs. ft. Okimoto at a dinner party at a tea house. Shoes were left outside the door and dinner was served by girls in kimonbs. We sat on Cushion at low tables. Our trip, from the moment We stepped off t he plane and were met by Gail with the traditional Aloha and beautiful flowered leis, until it was time to say 'Aloha' as we left, Will long be remembered as a dream come true. It's good to be back in Holiday Hills and 'home, sweet home* again, but with Gail in Hawaii, a part of us remains there also.
