There will be roast beef dinner, family style, served from noon until 2 p.m. at the usual prices complete with everything from main course to dessert. Presentations to Historical society will begin at 11 a.m., and if you have anything to donate to the society, yoy may do so at this time. The Historical society will have items of inerest to the Ringwood area residents in particular. There will be a 'country store with hours from until 4 p.m. Home-baked iterfts, canned foods, fresh garden produce and fancy work will be featured. t From 1 to 5 p.m. there will be an art show. Sketches of local establishments made by local artists will be featured, with mail orders taken at a nominal fee. Note paper with sketches on it will be offered for sale. , How about a dog show? Here's your chance to see all types and sizes of dogs. They will be highlighted in a dog show which will be held between 2 and 2:30 p.m. Anyone for golf? Miniature golf, that is! From 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. you may indulge in a game or two of golf on the church grounds. Ice cream? The Senior high young people of Mt. Hope, Mc- Henry and Ringwood, will hold ah ice cream social, beginning at 3 p.m. Carousel Cabaret will be held in the church at 7 p.m. by the Senior High M.Y.F.'ers. Vacationers Return After fourteen years, Clara and Jerry Tonyan took a weekend trip up into Wisconsin. They took in Dickeyville and many other places of interest. They visited Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Freund at Riceville. (They resided on Ringwood Road at one time). They also called on Sister Lambert (their aunt) at Milwaukee. Grandma and Grandpa Tonyan took charge of the youngsters at home. They covered 650 miles and returned home Sunday evening. The S u b u r b a n C o m m u n i t y Chest presented a check to our club for use in our children activities. This check was disbursed from funds collected in the metropolitan area, but designated by the giver (or use in Wonder Lake. * Bill Cristy reported on the Home and Garden Walk to be held August 19 and 20 from 10:30 to 3:30. In addition to the Belshaw, Ehlen and White homes, the following have been added: Gonzale^-Gokay and the Karl Fredricksen homes. A bake sale bazaar and white elephant booths will be operated. Boat rides will also be provided. Net proceeds will be used for Girl Scout work at Wonder Lake. Volunteers are needed to help man the booths. Art Lau gave a report on the Kiwanis convention held at Portland, Ore., and also on his trip to Alaska. The airline strike created problems for Art coming home. Art arrived home via a round-about route, Seattle to Vancouver, to Calgary, to Winnepeg, to Toronto, to Chicago. Bible Church Sunday School classes for all ages will be held at 9:30 on Aug. 14. At 11, the morning worship, Junior church will be held. At 7 o'clock in the evening the Bible fellowship hour will take place. On Aug. 17, the prayer meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. Uniform Exchange A Girl Scout uniform exchange will be handled at the rummage and bake sale to be held at the fire house (east side) Friday CLil d Saturday, Aug. 12 and 13, fro m9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Any Scout who wishes to sell her outgrown uniform may bring it with the 'asking price' to the rummage sale and Troop 494 will see what can be done. Latest figures show that about 36 per cent of the patients were Medicare patients. Ordinarily Memorial hospital has about 20 per cent of its patients over 65, Bert Hanson, administrator, reported. The increase represents a jump of about 16 per cent. A4 study of Medicare patient records shows they are in the hospitalf for just reasons, Hanson continued. "We are fortunate Memorial Hospital has the capacity to absorb this increase without any problem," he continued. "We are also fortunate to have the nurses available to meet all patients needs." DRAMA FESTIVAL A Lincolnland Drama Festival including three plays will be presented in Kelso Hollow at New Salem July 26 through Aug. 21, with the exception of Mondays. "Prologue to Glory" and "Our American Cousin," the latter being the comedy performed the night Abraham Lincoln was shot, will be on the program during the first three weeks. The premiere of "Lincoln at Springfield: November, 1858," written by Louis Catron of Springfield, will be three evenings of the final week of the festival. Except for Monday nights, shows will be given at 8 p.m. from July 26 through Aug. 21. During the first three weeks "Prologue to Glory" will be staged Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday with "Our American Cousin" on Wednesday and Friday.
