Bags Big Goose Frederic Amour of Island Lake bayyed this Canada Goose while hunting with his son Ronald at Horseshoe Lake near Cairo, Illinois. It weighed 14 pounds and had a wing spread of slightly under 6 feet. It is believed to be a Giant Canada Goose or "Branta Canadensis Maxima." According to Mr. Mark Tuttle of7 the State of Illinois Conservation Department in Chicago, it was reported that this species was thought to be extinct back in 1920.
