WOMEN'S CLUB OF WONDER LAKE At the March meeting of the Women's club of Wonder Lake several women were accepted as charter members. They are the last charter members to be accepted. Community projects chairman Mrs. James Ahern, reported on the progress of the Red Cross swimming instruction to be held on Wonder Lake this summer. Revisions to the by-laws were made and accepted. One revision being, that the Women* s club of Wonder Lake shall now meet on every thifrd Thursday of the month at 8 p.m. President Mrs. Eugene Mates! appointed three new chairmen: Mrs. Martin Quilty as budget chairman, Mrs. Grant Ernst as ways and means and Mrs. Clayton Bebber as membership chairman. Mrs. Conrad Rupp, vice-president is in charge of compiling the year book and providing the program. At the March meeting Mrs. Rupp introduced Clarence Hummel, county detective juvenile officer. Hummel informed us of the main problems among the youth today, which include: youthful drinking, truancy, vandalism and theft. Because of the interest of the club members, a long question and answer period followed Hummel's talk. A board meeting to include all chairmen is to be held at the home of the president on Thursday, March 21 at 9 a.m. The April meeting of the Women's club of Wonder Lake will be held at the home of Mrs. Donald G e r l i t z , Highland Shores.
