• •Ag Sec. 2 Plaindealer - Wed., Apr., 10, 1968 OOR - LlLYMOOR SHIRLEY SCHUERR 385-2645 VILLAGE TO WARS •OWNERS OF TRASH OWJPROPERTY During the next two months the sanitary inspector of the village of Lakemoor will be touring the village to inspect Buy trash laying around. Owners of any property with trash on it will be given a warning to clean it up. If not cleaned up, tickets will be issued. Residents of Lakemoor are allowed two (2) twenty gallon containers with lids on them. If there is too much trash the owners or resident of the homo will have to make arrangements on their own to have the trash picked up and hauled away. Within the next month engineers will be going over the roads to see what needs repairing. A check of the roads will be done before repairing. The village has appointed a new police officer who is William Frasemer. The village is also purchasing a new squad car. The next village meeting will be held tomorrow, Thursday, April 11. Village meetings are held the second Thursday of eac h month. Please try to attend your village meetings and see what is going on first hand. If you have any questions or even complaints bring them up at the village meetings and you will know what is going on first hand. NO SUNDAYS Village Clerk Pat Morrison has office hours Monday through Saturday. If you have any business with the village clerk she will gladly take care of it during the day or evening six days a week, but please NOT ON SUNDAYS. Sunday is the day of rest for most people and the only day they can be with thei r family. So if you have any business with Pat do it anyday except Sunday. AUXILIARY NEWS The Woman's auxiliary held its monthly meeting in the large dining room of Club Lilymoor. The women welcomed president Lee Bassi back from her vacation. Discussed was the forth commg rummage sale to be held May 17 and 18. The monthly prizS was won by Eunice Tobey. Tni?- auxiliary welcomes back as a member Marge Polinski. The women were happy to see Marge back. Hostess for the April meeting was Helen Rodde. The next monthly meeting will be held Monday, May 6, hostesses for the May meeting are Pearle Stineman and Kay Meyer. Charles, better known to his many friends as Charlie passed,away on Friday, April 5 at the McHenry hospital. -• Charlie had been a resident of Lilymoor for many years and was a past president of the Lilymoor association. He is survived by his wife, Sallie, and three daughters, Mrs. Sue Wirfs, Mrs. Helen Golbeck and Mrs. Marge Hiller all of McHenry, sons, John at home, and Gilbert of Mount Prospect. THE CANCER CRUSADE Started the first of April and will run the rest of this month. BACK FROM VACATIONS Squib and Pat Morrison enjoyed seeing the different interesting sights in the state of Flo« rida. While there they visited Pat's father, Mr. Lorenzana of Orlando. During the week the family attended a m isical given by the McHenry high school students and David Winters was given a big hand as he performed in the chorus of the play, which may launch him on a new career. Connie Lindwall and her daughter, Karen Colomar, had lunch with Audrey Whitney one day last week and enjoyed a nice gab fest. Loretta Ramage entertained two of her friends at a dinner Saturday night. Use sandpaper to clean any remaining charred threads. Put a small amount of glue into the hole and spread evenly with fingers. While the glue is setting take a razor blade and scrape lightly the top of the carpet in some other area that most closely matches the burned section. When you have scraped iqj enough lint, drop it loosely into the hole and tamp gently. In a few days, after normal use the rug will look as good as ever. Q. How can I impart a glossier appearance to some of my linens? A. Try adding a few drops of glycerin to the starch that is used when laundering these linens. Q. Cut some disks of the required size from some empty cardboard milk containers. By applying carbon tetrachloride or turpentine with a soft, clean cloth. Remove the softened wax, go over the floor with a cloth wrung out of soapand water solution, then rinse. Q. How can I soften brown sugar and make it easier to measure? A. By placing it in a flat baking dish and placing in the oven for a few minutes. Watch it closely, however, to avoid burning! Q. Is there any way I can renovate some cracked dishes? A. If the cracks in your dishes are not too deep, you can probably make them invisible by boiling the dishes in sweet milk for about an hour, over low heat. This is often wonderfully effective, for keeping intact some pieces that would otherwise be hard to replace. Q.
