After) the traditional rains of Easter Sunday it turned out, to be a pretty fair day although nothing to compare with the few days preceding it. How come it always works out that way? A surprise birthday party was held for Jim Daurio who reached the half century mark on April 6. Mary really worked overtime to make this a great surprise and the hardest of all was to keep him in the dark while he went shopping with her. He was showered with funny gifts which will keep him guessing for a while. Guests at the sneaky pete party were Frank and Arlene Bartos, Dottie and Irv Becker, Les and Nedra Eckhart, Elaine and Jerry Worth, Ray and Donna Rode, Betty and Bill Kamp, Max and Shirley Koch, Petey and Jack Oakford, Ed and Kay Druml and Harry and Helen Jones. Bill Walker was seriously injured last Thursday in an automobile accident on Barreville road just four blocks from his home ill McHenry Shores. He is a patient at McHenry hospital whore he is recovering from multiple injuries. He's sure to appreciate a few cards from his many friends in the area. ^ Jim and Mary Daurio delivered 185 finished hospital gowns to the children's hospital at Dixon last week. These gowns are fashioned from men's white shirts which are out of style or worn at the collars and cuffs. A lady in Crystal Lake makes these gowns and can use all the shirts that can be collected. Won't you save them during your spring cleaning spree and give them to the Daurios to pass on to the seamstress? Belated birthday greetings to Elaine Worth who celebrated on April 5.
