Mrs. Pearl Patzke and a friend, Mrs. Erika Krug, of Fox River Grove enjoyed a trip to Holland, Mich., last week where they attended the tulip festival. Mrs. Robert Conway spent a recent day in Elgin where she attended a dinner and family get-together at the John Whalen home and enjoyed movies taken on their recent trip to California. Mrs. Elmer Anderson, Mrs. Arthur Brey, Mrs. Charles Ehlert, Mrs. Victor Kistler, and Mrs. John May of Waukegan were guests in the Fred Schoewer home Monday where luncheon was followed by an afternoon of cards. Mesdames Gladys McAndrews, Eleanor Foley, Vera Ward and Velma Douglas and Misses Mary Kinney and Genevieve Knox attended a luncheon and business meeting of the Mc- Henry County Retired Teachers association held in Crystal Lake last Wednesday. Mrs. Ethel Behrendt and a friend of Chicago were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lawrence Tuesday of last week. Mrs. Bonnie Jennings is spending a couple of weeks with relatives in West Bend, Wis. Mrs. Anna Cohrs of Mundel-. ein, a former McHenry resident, was a guest of Mrs. Carl Lobitz a few days recently. Mrs. Paula Menner of Stuttgart, Germany, is visiting her cousin, Mrs. Carl Springman, and another cousin, in Chicago for two months. Freund spent a few days last week in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Petitclair, in Waukegan and while there accompanied by Mrs. Petitclair and daughters, Carol and Jean, she motored to Campbellsport, Wis., to visit her three sisters at the convent there* Mrs. Leslie Olsen and daughter, Mrs. Robert Low, attended a bridal shower for Miss Kathleen Hardt of Twin Lakes given at the Charles Olsen home in Richmond Monday of last week. Miss Hardt* s marriage • took place in Wilmot, Wis., last Sat. to George York, a nephew of the Leslie Olsens. TWO-CAR CRASH An Ingleside driver, John Piff, was blamed by sherifPs deputies for an accident In which his car collided with another driven by Daniel Torres of Rt. 2, West Chicago, who was uninjured. The crash occurred on Bay road several miles east of McHenry, Friday night. Torres told deputies he was travelling west when the other auto swerved across the center line. FAIR TICKET OFFICE Ticket requests for entertainment attractions at the 1968 Illinois State Fair will be accepted starting June 1, General Manager Franklin Rust announced, "The ticket office v/ill not be opened until Monday,, June 3," Rust said, "and an orderly processing of ticket orders cannot be accomplished if there is a backlog of mail orders. Ticket orders postmarked prior to June 1 will be returned." Over-the-counter sales at the grandstand will not get under way until about June 15, Rust added. ONE DRIVER HURT One driver suffered minor injuries and another driver and a passenger escaped unhurt in a two-car crash on Rt. 120 at River road Sunday evening. Joyce Bahling of Riverside drive, McHenry, told sherifPs police she was driving over the bridge and applied the brakes when she saw an auto in front of her. However, the auto skidded on wet pavement and her vehicle collided with another driven by Silvio Pioli of River road, McHenry. The latter driver was injured.
