It - ; SUNDAY SCIENCE LECTURE BASED ON "SUBSTANCE? Congregations in McHenry*s Christian Science church and those throughout the world will tear a Lesson-Sermon this Sunday titled "Substance." Its Golden Test is from John: "Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you." Among related passages to be read from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by the denomination's Founder, Mary Baker Eddy, is the following; "Christianity causes men to turn naturally from matter to Spirit, as the flower turns from darkness to light. Man then appropriates those things which 'eye hath not seen nor ear heard*. Paul and John had a clear apprehension that, as mortal man achieves no worldly honors except by sacrifice, so he must gain heavenly riches by forsaking all worldliness. Then he will have nothing in common with the worldling's affections, motives and aims." The Sunday service at Christian Science society, Lincoln road and Eastwood lane begins at 10:30 a.m. All are welcome.
