Henry B. Hasman of Broadway, McHenry, was parked in front of the local bank. While the auto was unoccupied, an unidentified vehicle struck the left rear fender, causing some damage. Orvis L. Goad of Woodstock driving north at the intersection of Waukegan road and Borden street, stopped and seeing no approaching cars, entered the intersection. Naomi B. Meyer of Pueblo, McHenry, westbound, saw the other car stop and then entered the intersection. A collision resulted. The Meyer vehicle then spun clockwise in a southwesterly direction over parkway and driveway on Waukegan road and struck a sign. Another collision involved cars driven byKathrynFroehlich of John street, and Eddie L. Phernetton of 108 Riverside drive, Lakemoor. The first car north-bound, stopped at the intersection of Elm street and Third to allow the right turn indicated by the second driver, travelling east, then proceeded into the first lane of intersection. The latter told authorities her turn signal was intended for a shopping area parking lot further along on Elm street. Donald P. Reinboldt of W. Marylane, McHenry, told police he stopped at a sign at Mill and Crystal Lake road when his car was struck in the rear by another driven by James R. Harper of Driftwood, McHenry, who said he had intended to stop. No damage was reported. In another crash, Gary J. Becko of Richmond said he was following Richard G. Parker, Jr. of Lake Shore Drive, Wonder Lake, on Hanley avenue and a passenger in the back seat, started talking to him. At this point his car struck the other car in the rear. Booster immunizations against these diseases are required, when appropriate, for pupils entering the fifth and ninth grades. Parents and guardians of children were reminded of this section of the School Code of Illinois last week by Dr. Franklin D. Yoder, director of the Illinois Department of Public Health. The legislation, passed by the 75th General Assembly, is aimed at eliminating many of the serious complications, such as hearing impairment, mental retardation and paralysis that frequently follow attacks of the disease. Local school districts are responsible for implementing this law.
