Reminiscent of the 'good old days' we even had Coach Catanzaro, football player Dee Wegener and Cheerleaders Teuber and Kasprzyk. The guest speakers for the evening tied in with the theme as the women listened to an informative talk by Dr. Carl Berg - strom, superintendent of the schools in McHenry, and saw slides shown by George Haasl. They related the desperate need in the junior high level for an additional school and then answered questions about our schools. Following Dr. Bergstrom's and Mr. Haasl's departures the women reconvenedth^ir business meeting and after a discussion, voted to endorse the forthcoming bond issue, which will be held on Oct» 5. Hostesses for the evening were Joan Laskowski and Connie Hampton. MIKE KRUEGER GRADUATES FROM BASIC TRAINING Mike Krueger, son Of Marge and Earl Krueger, enlisted in the Army Special Services on July 9, and graduated from basic training at Ft. Polk, La., on Saturday, Sept. 14. Frombasic, Mike will go on to a preflight training course in helicopters at Ft. Wolters, Texas.Good Luck, Mike! LESLIE'S 8TH BIRTHDAY Leslie Jende celebrated her eighth birthday on Saturday, Sept. 14, by taking a group of her friends to Santa's Village for the occasion. Her guests included Judy Abbink, GiGi Smith, Kim Walters and Wendy Young. FRIDAY THE 13TH Friday the thirteenth will long be remembered by Betty Douglas who, while playing with her .children and dog on that fateful day, thru a freak accident, ended up in McHenry hospital with a cast on her left arm and right foot. CALIFORNIA GUESTS ~ It's been our pleasure, during thei past week, to have as our guests, Clar's sister, Shirley, her husband, Les, and our nephew, Paul, from Camrillo, Calif. We took a week of our vacation so that we could spend the time with them. Shirley hasn't been in Illinois since 1959 and Les and little Paul have never been in Illinois, ft was a busy,. busy week, with family gettogethers in Palatine atthe Pete Youngs and in North Riverside at the Elmer Weihses, as well as numerous sight seeing trips to Chicago and Wisconsin.
