ON THE MOVE "Our loss is Sunnyside Estates gain", or so the saying goes. Joe and Judy Jacques and their young daughter, Kim, made the move there recently. They are now at home in their newly purchased house. We wish them loads of happiness in their new dwelling. DINNER-DANCE REMINDER Please keep in mind the annual dinner - dance sponsored by the Johnsburg Community club that comes next Saturday, Nov. 2, in the club hall. Lots of help is needed to make this endeavor a rousing success. Help will be needed that evening and pies for the dinner are also in demand. Please contact either Marie Oeffling at 385-1259 or Jackie Freund at 385-1664 if you can bake pies for Saturday. Please call them as soon as possible so they will know how to plan for the dinner. Don itli rirl Time to "kick up your heels" folks. Some real"swingy*' musfr will be played in the Johnsburg Community club hall on Nov. 9, and anyone who cares to dance should be there. The Johnsburg Public School PTA is sponsoring their first dance, so why not give them a hand towards making it a success. Get your friends together and go (Ni over and treat yourselves to an evening of fun anddancing. Tickets can be purchased from any of the officers and committee members or at the door on dance night. The fun starts at 9 p.m. on Nov. 9 so be sure to be on time. HOSPITAL PATIENTS Sorry to report three ladies from our area were all confined to the Mc Henry hospital for a spell. Mrs. Diane Neiss should be home by the time this comes to print. She has spent a couple weeks in confinement and is now recovering from her recent surgery. Another lady patient in the hospital is Mrs. Gertrude Schmitt. She has been there for a few weeks already, and we certainly hope her stay will come to an end in the near future. Returning to the McHenry NEW PARENTS Our congratulations to Dor and Patti Weber who recentl welcomed a beautiful baby gh into their home. Needless to say, they couldn't be happier. Sharing this thrilling time are the baby's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Weber and Mr. and Mrs. Hank Hiller, Happiness to all. HONORED BY FAMILY Mr. and Mrs. Peter Freund were joined by their family for an evening out in observance of their twenty-third wedding anniversary. Last Sunday evening the Freunds were joined by their sonst and wives, the Alvin, Howard and Lloyd Freunds, and their daughters, the Bud Millers and the Bill Rutzens. We also join in sending our best wishes to them on this joyous occasion. Young Debbie Sobiesk was surrounded by her two brothers Greg and Doug, along with her parents, Gerry and Georgette, in celebration of her fourth birthday which was on Oct. 25, but the party was held on the twenty-seventh. Also joining in on Debbie's big natal day doings were the Bud Millers and John, Bill and Lorraine Rutzen, the Peter M. Freunds, Nancy Miller and George Yeaton. CONCERT Last Sunday afternoon, the fall varsity band concert was held at Harrison school under the direction of Richard MikUS. CONGRESSMAN VISITS THE LAKE Robert McClory was the guest of honor along with the county candidates at a coffee hosted by Mrs. Lewis Belshaw and Mrs. Grant Ernst at the firehouse on the east side last Sunday afternoon. BIRTHDAYS Miss Cheri Elbersen, daughter of the Gerald Elbersens, Indian Ridge, turned 15 years old, Oct. 24. Also, our little guy, Jamie, blows out four candles today, Nov.l. HERENDEEN-HAWKINS VOWS Miss Kay Ellen Herendeen, daughter of the Harry Herendeens, Woodstock, became the bride of Charles Hawkins, son of the George Hawkins, Highland Shores, Saturday, Oct. 12 in the Grace Lutheran church in Woodstock, the Rev. Raymond Shawl officiating. The bridal couple will make their first home in Wonder Lake. ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED Mr. and Mrs. Ted Johnson, Wooded Shores, announce the engagement of their daughter, Catherine L., to Clay Jackson son of the George JackSons, of Wauconda. May of Richmond has been named to the Illinois division of the American Cancer society board of directors for a two-year term. Thomas Raab, executive vicepresident of the state group, announced May's selection to the board this week. The board of directors of the Illinois division is composed of fifty-six people who are elected representatives of the society's seven districts and are chosen as directors at large. They meet twice yearly and are the top governing group of the American Cancer society of Illinois. May has been active in the work of the ACS McHenry County unit for several years. His leadership and interest has contributed significantly towards the success of their program. He has served as unit chairman < for the past two years and will continue during 1969. He has also been McHenry county chairman of the Cancer Crusade and has served as district Cancer Crusade chairman. SHOP IN MCHENRY THE WINNAH...
