(liken from the files of Oct; 25,1928) Miss Angela Miller entertained several friends at a Halloween party at her home of her sister, Mrs. Albert Justen. The home was prettily decorated in teeming with the season and Halloween colores predominated. Dr. C.W. Klontz, Earl Walsh; H* Scboewer, Harold Bacon, and Robert Weber saw the Green Bay Packer eleven defeat the Chicago Bears at Wrigley field in Chicago on Sunday. Miss Marie Powers is enjoying a vacation from her duties at the Erickson department store. She is spending the week visiting at Sycamore and De- Kalb. Dr. SJ5. Winner and Dr. Anna Johnson, both from the state department of public health, division of communicable diseases at Springfield, 111., were in - McHenry Tuesday of this; week and gave the Shick test to 385 ptqrils. \ In 1905 Mr. Vydtal and his family moved here froth Racine Wis., where he started a hardware store in the Owen building which has just been vacated by the Osmun brothers who had movedtheir hardware stock to Crystal Lake. In 1914 the proprietor of the local hardware store purchased the Perkins building and expanfflng and enlarging his stock so as tooccupy both buildings, one of the stores being known as Vycital's Novelty store. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Keririq*/ beck, Jr., who reside east of McHenry, were pleasartly sturpri8ed on their twentieth anniversary Saturday evening; John Hendricks c' Ringwood passed away at his home Friday evening after a lingering illness. It was held near McHenry. Mr. and Mrs. Albert WJ1- brandt of Riverside Drive spent a week at Springfield, Va. just outside Washington, D.C. where they visited with their son and wife, the Roger Wilbrandts. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Smith of McCullom Lake celebrated their twenty - fifth wedding anniversary with a trip to WIlHam T. Gilliford, 73, of North Court street, McHenry, died unexpectedly in bis home Oct. 9. Robert Vavrik of Orchard Beach, who received his bachelor of laws degree at DePaul university June 3, took the Illinois state bar examination on Sept. 9, 10 andll. He received notice of .having passed the examination to Oct. 10. On Nov. 20 he is scheduled to appear before the StgUreme Court to take the oath of an attorney and a counselor-at-law and receive his license. Nick Miller, Front street, McHenry, is a winner in the COUNTY BOARD e REALTORS MEET The McHenry County Board of Realtors held its monthly meeting at the Branded Steak House recently. Mathews Realty will be delegate to the National association convention in New York. Membership applications were received from Winn A. Phillips, Grace Phillips, Virgil Pollock, Joseph Mclntee and Henry Amandes. Voting on these new members will take place at the November: Nominations for officers for the coming year were given by the nominating committee, Don Tappan, chairman. For the officers for the year 1969, president, Ted Buck, secretary-treasure, John Fuhler; director for two years, Joseph Schmitt and Glenn Draper, director for one year to fill vacancy.
