; . Selective Dec. 13v 1968-r Pldindealer-* Sec, \f Pg, Like the mythical phoenix, holiday turkey has a way of showing up a second time. And why not ? No one tires of turkey, and getting another delicious meal out of it is a way of easing the strain on the family food budget. The trick is to make the festive bird's dinner table encore as exciting as his first appearance. One way is making almond studded croquettes from turkey, mushrooms, and other ingredients blended with a can of well-seasoned giblet gravy. After shallow or deep-fat fryittg the croquettes to a golden brown, add a bit of dill" to the remaining gravy and pour it, piping hot, over them. ; Accompany the croquettes with buttered acorn squash and a green crisp salad. For dessert open a can of chilled lemon pudding and garnish with apricots. Set out below are questions frequently asked of the Selective Service System along with appropriate answers. Your cooperation in printing or announcing these will be in the public interest. Q. Must aregistrant request a student deferment each year? A. No, one request will suffice. It is the registrant's duty, however, to provide his local board each year with evidence that he ia satisfactorily pursuing a fulltime course of instruction at his school.. Q. My son is planning to enter a local junidr college. Is such a college considered an institution of higher learning for which a n-S deferment may be authorized? A. A junior college is conSi-, dered an institution of higher learning. If a student is taking a full-time course of study and the credits are acceptable by an institution granting a baccalaureate degree, the student is eligible for classification in Class D-S. If the student is taking on- , ly a vocational or two-year terminal course, his classification would be n-A if a deferment was granted. ' Q. Since taking my preinduction physical t have lost the vision in one eye. What should t do? A. Obtain a statement from your doctor- setting forth ids clinical findings in this regard and present this statement to your local board as soon as possible. The board will normally then send this information with your examination records to the Armed Forces Examining and Entrance Station where you had your examination for evaluation by the physician* activity.
