Seems queer t' this ol' lady, that seemin'ly, it's us elders who kin see what's a comin'. Mebbe it's 'cause we kin recall how it used t' be. Mebbe it's 'cause folks jist don't care any more. Mebbe it's 'cause, in the last couple generations, childern hain't been taught t' THINK! Some folks, I know, ferget that discipline, in rearin' the young, needs th' ingredient o' thought. From where I observe the goin's on, I see younguns a bein' told what t' do, mostly, 'stead o' bein' taught t' think out their problems. Modern methods o' teachin', an' rearin' the younguns seem t' be makin' little robots out o' some o' them. They need t' be taught t' analyze, an' figger out things fer 'emselves, in order t' develop minds. The break down, in edicational facilities, s responsible, an' the parents, a startin' families these days, don't have the trainin' necessary t' turn out the finest product, 'emselves, so, where we're headed's plain t' see. In many families, the spiritual guidance 's missin' entirely, an' wi'out it, human bein's cain't develop the kind o' intelligence that's healthy an' good fer the human race. The kind o' social structure we're a' creatin' 's fertile ground fer the seeds o' destructive forces, in development o' the human bein'. Younguns, a learnin' t' stress the material, along wi' emphasis on recreational activities, a put tin' off the work, actually a growin' up wi' an aversion t' any thin' that puts a bit o' pressure on the free time, grow up wi'out the spine t' stand up fer anything', much less t' control the kind o' government that '11 keep us a free nation, fer free thinkin' folks.
