One important matter is the election of three new board members. The nominating committee has put together a list of the people who were nominated and who are going to run for election to the board of directors. The election will take place at the general meeting, Sunday, April 9, at the com munity house. If you are going to be out of town, please secure an absentee ballot OUR LAKE Another topic which will be discussed is the problems caused by duck hunting on McCullom Lake. Again this past autumn there was duck hunting being done on McCullom Lake. The hunting is done from a structure called a "Duck Blind" which extends up out of the water. The hunters do their shooting from inside this structure Also, shots are fired from moving row boats. Both of these methods of hunting are dangerous to people living around the lake, and to other people, especially children, who like to enjoy our lake. The president of LPPOA, Tony Serritella, informs us that on April 9 at the general meeting, the board will discuss this problem, and ask the members of the association to vote to prohibit any future duck hunting on McCullom Lake. PARENTS WATCH YOUR DOG It has been brought to the attention of this reporter that dogs running loose in Lakeland Park are still a problem. The problem is more serious than ever. One member of this community witnessed a dog attacking a little girl as she played outside. At this time of year it is especially important to keep your dog tied up or in the house. Please don't be the one responsible for such an "ac cident". CANDLE OCCASIONS Happy bjrthday wishes go to Sam Parisi and Elvira Cuevas on March 3.
