Very soon now, most of the residents will spend some of those lovely summer days down at the beach. It has not been too long of a time, when the waters of McCullom Lake were pretty dirty, to say the least. Cleaning up the waters was a chore if you remember. Due to the fine efforts of the McCullom Lake Conservation Club and many, many volunteers, the lake is now taking a turn for the better. This year again the McCullom Lake Conservation Club, will hold its regular "Clean Stream Clean-Up", on Saturday, May 13 Please volunteer your services, for this great cause. Adults and children in the village are urged to help. Volunteers should assemble at the West Shore Beach area of McCullom Lake at 9:30 in the morning. Rakes, hoes, shovels or whatever implements that will help do the job are necessary so please don't forget them. We all want to improve our lake and surrounding area, and it will mean work, but you will meet a lot of nice people too. Meeting new people is always fun. CONDOLENCES Our deepest sympathy to the family of Donald Schiavone, of 4701 McCullom Lake Road. Mr. ScHfavone died Sunday April 30, in the Harvard Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Lois, three children, Vallarie, Donna and Donald, Jr., one brother, Vincent of Lakemoor. LADIES OF THE LAKE Umm, umm, can't you just taste some of that fresh baked goodies that will go on sale Saturday May 27, at the beach?
