Her bouffant, illusion, fingertip veil was attached to a camelot head piece of beaded Venice lace. She carried a bouquet of blue and yellow carnations accented with baby's breath. Mrs. Paul (Maribeth) Kilday of McHenry, attended her friend as matron of honor and Mary Kay Welter of McHenry, another friend of the bride, served as maid of honor. The attendants wore full length gowns of chiffon over tafetta, fashioned with square necklines, long full sleeves and full skirts. Bands of Venice lace trim interlaced with satin ribbon enhanced the neckline and sleeves and encircled the skirts. Four attendants wore blue gowns, and three wore yellow. Matching bands of Venice lace were worn in their hair. The flower girls carried baskets of yellow and blue carnations, while the other attendants carried bouquets of colored carnations to match their individual gowns. Spring road, McHenry. They repeated their vows at the 8 o'clock candlelight ceremony before Dr. Eugene Stauffer and Rev. Eugene Baumhofer. Special selections, "Whither I Goest" and "O Perfect Love", were presented by soloist John Macdonald. The pretty bride wore an ivory silk organza, floor length Victorian gown featuring puffed sleeves, a detachable train and a lace and pearl appliqued bodice. Her cathedral length illusion veil fell from a Juliet cap. She carried a bouquet of white and pink tearoses and white stephanotis. For sentiment, she wore her grandmother's gold locket and carried a lace handkerchief belonging to her mother. Mrs. Megan Riggins of LaGrange Park, the bride's sister-in-law, was matron of honor. Her other attendants were Jane Frost of McHenry, the groom's sister, Monica Vojtas of Chicago, Greta Johnson of Richmond and Lindy Hollquist of Moline, all sorority sisters of the bride. The attendants' gowns, all made by the bride, were fashioned of light pink dotted ford, Jim Christenson of Rich mond and Rich Rosing, the bride's brother, of McHenry. The groom's godchild, Paul Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Loren Miller of Richmond, was ringbearer. For ho- daughter's wedding, Mrs. Rosing chose a full length gown of pink paisley print voile over live green taffeta with gold accessories and a corsage of white carnations and green roses. The bridegroom's mother wore a floor length embossed gown of yellow and white with white accessories and a cor sage of white carnations and yellow roses. Following the ceremony, a reception for 275 friends and relatives was held at the VFW hall in McHenry. Barbara Longhway of Minnesota, a cousin of the bride, circulated the guest book at the reception. The bride, a 1967 graduate of Marian Central Catholic high school, attended Illindts State university in Normal, 'where she was awarded a B.S. degree in Special Education this month. The bridegroom is a 1966 graduate of Richmond- Burton high school and is now employed by Commonwealth Ediion. Upon their return from a wedding trip to Wisconsin, the newlyweds will make their home in McHenry. Out of town guests at the wedding came from Trembelau and Galesville, Wis., Bowie, Md., Bloomington, Minn., Rockford and Dundee. Swiss and featured long sleeves, empire waists and floor length skirts. Each carried a natural colored wicker basket filled with white spider mums, pink tearoses and baby's breath. Ken Frost of Norwood, Mass., served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Tom Frost of McHenry, the groom's brother, James Riggins of LaGrange Park, the bride's brother, Dennis Lamb of Wheeling and Dennis Lynch of Rolling Meadows, both classmates of the groom. The bride's mother chose a floor length, empire gown of yellow organza and wore a white cymbidium orchid. The groom's mother wore a light blue empire gown of textured polyester and a similar orchid. Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the Fellowship hall for 250 guests. The bride and groom both graduated from Western Illinois university. The bride is a Home Economics teacher and the groom is a Physical Education instructor. After a one-week honeymoon to the Smoky Mountains, the young couple will make their home at 1645 Forest road, LaGrange Park. Bonnea Bonder, John Hart Wed On Saturday St. Patrick's Catholic church was the setting for a beautiful wedding solemnize^ Saturday, June 24. The Rev. Father Edmund Petit officiated at the noon nuptial ceremony which united in marriage Miss Bonnea Brae Bonder and John Patrick Hart. Miss Bonder is the daughter of Dorothy F. Bonder of 306 W. Northlake road, McHenry. Her husband is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James F. Hart of 18633 Gottschalk, Homewood, 111. White gladiolas with greens decorated the altar. The lovely bride selected a white crepe dress, featuring a U-shaped train, with jewel neckline, the sleeves forming a point over the hands. A pearl braided belt was the only decoration. She wore a wide brimmed hat. Miss Bonder carried a single, long stemmed red rose. Attending the bride were Mrs. Gayle Louise Bennett of McHenry, her sister, as matron of honor; Miss Kathleen Hart of Chicago, sister of the bridegroom, and Mrs. Jan Michele Dunham of Columbus, Ohio, as bridesmaids. Gina Louise Bennett, niece of the bride, was junior bridesmaid and Gwen Bennett, another niece, was flower girl. All attendants wore Navy blue and white print acetate, sleeveless dresses, with long skirts and cowl collars. Each wore short gloves and carried one long stemmed white rose. James F. Hart, Jr., of Homewood served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Richard L. Wiegel of Chicago, Michael L. Lantry of Homewood, Martin Kimble of Nauvoo, 111., William Leader III of Alden, Mich., and John William Keithley of Monmouth, 111 Mrs. Bonder wore a dress of pastel shades with a wide- brimmed yellow hat. Mrs. Hart was attired in a yellow crepe dress, trimmed with beads. A reception for 140 guests at the McHenry Country club followed the ceremony. This included ten new members. The membership count is rapidly nearing the 500 mark. The annual club picnic for members will be Saturday, July 8, at Veterans Acres, Crystal Lake blacktop. Members are asked to bring their own lunches. Coffee and cold drinks will be furnished by the club. The committees are well organized and club members are assured of a very enjoyable day. The games will be handled by Roland Grayson, Bob Wilke and A1 Michael. Louise Giel and Emily Fairchild will be at the entrance to register and greet members. Coffee will be served by Social Chairman Helen Strandquist and her com mittee, and the cold drinks will be served by George Binder, Dick Rehfinger and Frank Giel. Among committee reports, Frank Giel stated that due to the large number now bowling there will be two sessions every Tuesday, the morning group bowling at 9:45 a.m. and the afternoon group at 12:45 p.m., as well as the group bowling every Friday at 12:45. Whether you are cooking in the back yard or out in a forest preserve makes little d i f f e r e n c e . A d v a n c e preparation can turn either of these meals into a banquet. Make dessert in advance and freeze. Come lunch time your cake will be thawed, but oven fresh. Have fresh vegetables cleaned and iced in a plastic container. Slice tomatoes and arrange on a bed of lettuce along with cucumber wedges, radishes, green onions, etc. on a large plate. Serve salad dressing separate. Bring Onion "Kisses" along, wrapped in foil. Then try one of the following barbecued meat recipes for a real taste treat. Or dress up hamburgers and sausages with a special sauce. BARBECUED ROUND BONE POT ROAST A LA ITALIENNE This economy cut of meat will be tender even when served rare after being properly marinaded. Yield: 6-8 servings 1 slice round bone beef pot roast, approximately 1-1 Vi inches thick), (3-4 pounds) Vz cup vegetable oil One-third cup vinegar 1 ^envelope (lVfe oz.) dry spaghetti sauce mix * Combine vegetable oil, vinegar and spaghetti sauce mix in a small bowl, mixing well, until sauce ingredients are dissolved. Marinate 4-6 hours, turning meat several times. Remove meat from marinade and place on grill about 3-4 inches from heat. Broil about 10 minutes on each side for medium rare, basting meat with remaining marinade. BARBECUED SHORT RIBS These ribs can be cooked on a grill or in your oven, whichever you prefer. Very tender, lean and with a nice spicy flavor. Because they are precooked the actual broiling time is quite short. Yield : Serves 6 3 pounds boneless beef short ribs Vfe cup dry red wine 1 8-ounce can tomato sauce 1 tablespoon dehydrated minced onions IVz teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons cider vinegar 1 tablespoon prepared mustard dash cayenne Remove any excess fat from ribs with a sharp knife. Put in a large pot, cover with water, bring to a boil and simmer for about 2 hours. (To make a good stock add one or two knuckle bones, some carrots, celery tops, onions, parsley, a bay leaf and peppercorns.) Remove ribs from stock, reserving stock for future use. Place ribs on a broiling pan or grill. Combine tomato sauce, onions, salt, vinegar, mustard and cayenne pepper. Pour over the ribs and broil or grill, basting continuously. When meat seems nicely glazed remove from oven or grill and serve. (Have your butcher bone your meat for you; it's much easier this way. The next time they are on sale, you may wish to buy a large quantity of these beef ribs. Precook them all at one time and then freeze them in meal size portions. Have your sauce in the refrigerator and you can whip up a tasty meal in minutes.) Magician To Perform At Area Church Thomas McKay, professional magician of Woodstock, will present his magic act Saturday night, July 8, at the United Methodist church of Ringwood at 8 p.m. This will be held on the church lawn under the big tent which is set up for the chicken barbecue dinner to be held Sunday, July 9. Senior Citizens Hold Strawberry Festival July 1 From 11 to 8 p.m., July 1, the Richmond Area Pioneers club (Senior Citizens) will present a Strawberry Festival at the outside court yard, Broadway, State Route 12 and Mill street, Richmond. Everyone is invited to see the yesteryear costumes and enjoy eating strawberry delights. The festival will be held July 2 in the event of rain. The public is invited. While there is no admission fee, a free-will offering will be taken to help defray expenses. Arrangements are being made to keep the insect population down so they won't be a nuisance.
