Need Holiday Cookies For Disabled Vets ' Red Cross has delivered and distributed hundreds of dozens of cookies for disabled veterans for the past several years. This is made possible by the cooperation of many groups of Scouts, 4-H, and other youth organizations. The quota this year is 500 dozen cookies, but as in previous years, it is hoped this amount can be doubled. There are over 2,000 veterans who enjoy this yearly treat. Any organization wishing to participate may call the McHenry County Red Cross office in Woodstock for further information. The deadline for delivery is Dec. 14, as the parties are scheduled for Dec. 20 and 22. LeVilla Vaupell Club Sponsors Rummage Sale The Ladies of LeVilla Vaupell Country Club, McHenry, are not superstitious. They are planning a rummage sale for Friday, Oct. 13. Starting at 9 a.m. in the annex of the Wauconda Federated church, Barrington Road in Wauconda, a variety of items will go on sale. The ladies have gathered baby clothes, shoes, household items plus men and women's clothes. All will be priced at reasonable rates. The ladies are from an unincorporated subdivision south of McHenry on Griswold Lake and they aid with the finances for main taining their roads and beaches by projects such as the rum mage sale. Items will be on sale at the church annex in Wauconda from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Friday, the thirteenth of October, mark your calen dar. By keeping the children in their own area and entertained LaLeehe League Meets To Discuss Breast Feeding The La Leche League of McHenry will hold its monthly meeting Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 8 p.m. The discussion for this meeting will be centered on "How to successfully breast feed and overcoming dif ficulties." All women who are interested in nursing their babies are invited, as are their babies. La Leche League began in a Chicago suburb fourteen years ago, when one mother who had successfully nursed her baby, helped another mother who wanted to breastfeed. This is still the basic ap proach, although the League is now international in scope, with more than 1,000 groups helping thousands of women in the United States, Canada and twelve countries.
