AN ELECTION NOTE The election board of McHenry Precinct No. 1 (Ringwood) appreciates the efforts of precinct com mitteemen, Sigurd Jacobson and Raymond Ladouceur, in keeping the vicinity free of a deluge of campaign literature, posters, etc. With television, radio, the press, and the mail, voters are well aware of Who's Who... and furthermore who is responsible for the removal of these posters after election day? BAZAAR AND DINNER ASUCCESS The annual bazaar and roast beef dinner at the Ringwood church last Saturday was a terrific succcess. The profit from homemade candies was PAGE 9-PLAINDEALER-FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 17, 1972 around $275 and the bazaar was another $365 plus. The dinner was a success too as we figured that we served approximately 350 people. We wish to express our gratitutde to all who at tended, donated and worked. Without all of you we could never have a success of anyone of our many projects. They are work, but we have fun and fellowship along with the work. So until next time God Bless you all. P.S. Folks there is on dividual that, for the fun she kept track of the hours spent working at the church this past week for the bazaar and it totaled 60 hours. Can you beat that??? HAPPY THANKSGIVING In this time that we live in, when material things are in abundance, we sometimes forget to count our blessings. We take for granted things that would have been considered luxuries in other times. There's a lot to be said for the simple pleasures of day-to-day living. Like, a warm house to come home to. Enough food to eat. (Even if it isn't always steak) A friend who says "I'll help you out" when you need help. Family and friends gathered around the Thanksgiving table. Or a little thing like a cookie to those little ones who ruin your peace and quiet with "Hi, Mom, I'm home; What've you got to eat." Let's all take stock and remember to say that special "Thank You" on Thanksgiving Day. Have a wonderful day. I especially want to thank all the people who have taken time out of their busy schedule to call me with news for the column. And also the many kind people who have offered words of encouragement over the past year. Happy Thanksgiving!
