(DON PEASLEY PHOTO) Travelers Return From Memorable Trip Abroad Mrs. Gertrude Justen McHenry, returned hoyne Monday from a vacation spent in Rome, Florence, Naples and Capri, Italy. She was ac­ companied by her daughter, Mrs. Robert Bestoso, of Newport, Rhode Island. Departing from Boston, the travelers landed at Ciampino airport, and proceeded along the Old Appian Way, past the Catacombs. They arrived at their destination, a hotel situated on one of the hills of Rome. Their first day was spent touring the city, which included stops at the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Panthean, Colosseum, St. Peter's and the Vatican Museum with its Sistine Chapel. Another day took them through the charming Italian countryside with its vineyards, grazing sheep and quaint villages atop high cliffs of the Appenine Mountains. Then on to the beautiful city of Florence, famous for its arts and crafts. There they saw the Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge) and its goldsmith shops as well as the Straw Market with its wood carvings and leather goods. They visited the famous sculpture of David by Michelangelo and the mar­ velous Cathederal of St. Mary of the Flower and its nearby companile (bell tower) by Giotto. The following day they took a bus tour to Naples and from there traveled by hydrofoil boat to the enchanting Isle of Capri. Highlights of the trip were a precarious ride into the Blue Grotto in a skiff and an exciting trip up a winding road to the top of the mountains where lunch was served. Then on to Sorrento by boat. Sunday, they enjoyed a last visit to the Vatican to receive the Pope's blessing and viewed 15,000 pilgrims assembled for the same blessing. A few over-all impressions of the trip included the food (antipasta, pasta, ^wine and dolce, were all that one could desire) and the famous Roman traffic with too many automobiles, no stop signs and no speed limits made street crossing a test of courage and agility. As for Roman hippies, there were none. The only long­ haired, bearded, jean-clad youth were strangers who loitered on the Spanish Steps selling silver and copper jewelry: When their pleasant days had ended, the ladies departed for home on a plane with a short stop-over at Shannon, Ireland. Mrs. Justen spent several days with her daughter and family in Newport before returning to McHenry. East Campus Drama Club Presents Play The East Campus Drama club will present "The Wild, Wild West" (or "Half-Pint Windom Rides West) Tuesday, Nov. 21, at 8 p.m. at East campus auditorium. There will be a small admission charge. The play is a one-act melodrama about the "typical old West" of the 1800's. It features a gang of "bad guys" dressed in black, pestering the sweet young thing, Tessie, and her widowed mother to gain possession of their farm, which incidentally is situated atop a gold mine. But the hero, Half Pint Windom, arrives just in the nick of time to save them - or does he?
