Breen of Wonder Lake on the RTA. What good will it be for our Senior Citizens? We very seldom go to Chicago and if we do the Senior Citizens rent the buses to take us there. "What we need is bus service from one town to another to do shopping there. "Mayor Daley has already spent the money for the RTA. He wants to use }t for tearing down the elevated tracks and building subways. "Why should we out in McHenry and surrounding communities pay about 5 cents tax on gasoline and will never use the RTA. "Our taxes are high enough now. We do not need the RTA so everyone in the suburbs should vote against it. It is benefitting the Chicago area and we are paying for it. "Everyone get out and vote against it. "Mr. and Mrs. John G. Jones "3102 Charlotte Avenue "McHenry" Great Need For Male Volunteers At Summer Camp More than fifty male volunteer attendants are desperately needed to help care for muscular dystrophy patients who attend the free summer camp for dystrophic campers. Two one-week sessions are held in Lake Villa, 111., June 16-22 at Camp Ravenswood and June 23-29 at Camp Hastings. Male attendants are needed because patients, usually confined to a wheelchair, need much help with their ordinary daily routine. While at camp, additional aid is required so that the patient can participate in all the camping activities. Activities include swimming, boating, fishing, horseback riding and camp fires. At tendants become a constant companion and develop lasting friendships with the patient camper. Male attendants must be 15 years or older. Room and board are provided by the Muscular Dystrophy association. The attendant must be a congenial person who is anxious to become a friend to a han dicapped person. All volunteers are given orientation sessions. The dream of a week at summer camp will not be a reality for the person with muscular dystrophy unless the needed male volunteers are found. Interested persons should call 427-0551.
