A wedding of interest was solemnized in St. James the Apostle church, Glen Ellyn, Saturday, April 6, when Patricia Beth Rush of 7712 Howard street, Omaha, Neb., became the bride of Michael Patrick Phelan of 417 S. 78th street, Omaha, Neb. They repeated their nuptial vows at an 11 a.m. Mass before the Rev. James Lennin in a church d e c o r a t e d w i t h y e l l o w a n d whit$ spring flowers. Miss Rush is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew W. Rush of 2 S. Stratford road, Glen Ellyn and Mr. Phelan is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Phelan of 3701 W. Main street, Musical selections presented at the ceremony were "Ave Maria" and "Because" sung by Deacon Michael Lane and a duet of "O Perfect Love ' and "Panis Angelicus" by Deacon Lane and Joan Laskey. The processional was "Marche Pontificale" and the recessional, Rossini's march from "The 9th Symphony". The pretty bride chose a candlelight satin organza and alencon lace formal length gown featuring a raised waistline, Victorian neckline, long bishop sleeves with wide cuffs and a sheer bodice of alencon lace. Narrow chantilly lace and satin ribbon enhanced the bodice, sleeves and cuffs of the gown. Her full skirt flowed into a chapel length train trimmed with a double ruffle of chantilly lace. Rosemary Rush of Glen Ellyn attended her sister as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mary Ann Swerdzewski and Julie Hefflinger, both of Omaha. Little Samantha Scolaro of McHenry was flower girl. The attendants wore floor length gowns of yellow and white voil fashioned with square necklines and short puffed sleeves. Each wore a yellow picture hat enhanced with streamers. Mike Schmitt of Libertyville served as best man. Ushers were Drew Rush of Glen Ellyn, the bride's brother and Steve Zriny of McHenry, the groom's brother-in-law. Jeffrey Gona served as ringbearer. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Rush chose a lime green jersey slip dress with a beaded floral print chiffon jacket and white accessories. The groom's mother wore an aquamarine blue floor length sheath with a m a t c h i n g c o a t a n d w h i t e * accessories. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the LeGrand Chalet, Wheaton, for 150 friends and relatives. Upon their return from a wedding trip to Sarasota, Fla., the newlyweds plan to make their home in Omaha, E)Jeb. The bride is a graduate ̂ of^t M a r g a r e t ' s a c a d e m y , Minneapolis, Minn., and Creighton university, Omaha. She is a third grade teacher at Sherman school in Omaha. The bridegroom graduated from MCHS and the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater. He is employed as territorial manager for Lennox Industries, Omaha. Court Joyce Kilmer Busy With Spring Plans DEBRA LEE GEWEKE ENGAGED - Mr. and Mrs. Richard Geweke of Ingleside, announce the engagement of their daughter, Debra Lee, to Bruce Scott Kaplan, son of Dr. and Mrs. Robert Kaplan of 4239 Olentangy River road, Columbus, Ohio. NCSF Diocesan Conference Is Set For April 21 The next meeting of Court Joyce Kilmer, No. 573, Catholic Daughters of America, will be Thursday, April 18, at 8 p.m., in the K.C. Hall, 1304 N. Park Street. Hostess for the social hour will be Mrs. Elvina Summers, who will be assisted by Mrs. Theresa Van Buren, Mrs. Viola Brda, Mrs. Gertrude Barbian, Mrs. Leoda Freund, Mrs. Theresa Freund, Mrs. Dorothy Miller and Mrs. Marie Vales. The members of the Mother's Day Banquet committee met at the home of Regent Bertilla Freund recently and finalized plans for that annual event. Social hour will be at 6:30 p.m. with dinner served at 7 p.m. in St. Patrick's Hall, 3500 W. Washington street. Mrs. Mary Maloney and Mrs. Mildred Dempsey will be in charge of reservations; Mrs. Lillian Bolger and Miss Carolyn Bauer will take care of the decorations and Mrs. Sue Devereux and Mrs. Mildred Dempsey will be hostesses at the social hour. Mrs. Ann Simonsen is in charge of cards after the dinner and the program for the evening has been arranged by Miss Lee Schwarz, co-chairman. Members may invite guests for the evening. Invitations were sent by Mrs. Helen Grenkowitz, co-chairman, to the pastors and assistants of churches in McHenry, to Mrs. Lucille Marcheschi, district deputy, and to Mrs. Mary Lou Newquist and Court Immaculate Conception of DeKalb, of which Mrs. Marcheschi is a member. A letter will be sent to all members of the court shortly with details of the spring card party, the Mother's day banquet, the Mass, Communion and breakfast, and the Day of Recollection. The Day of Recollection has been arranged by Mrs. Mary Freund, Personal Involvement chairman, after a unanimous vote at the last meeting to have this day of prayer at the Viatorian Villa Tuesday, June 25. A transportation committee will be formed to accommodate those who do not drive. On Wednesday, April 3, those faithful members of the Social Committee of Veteran Affairs, traveled to Downey to entertain the veterans. Miss Eleanore Taylor, who is moving to Florida, will be greatly missed as one of the Downey drivers. Mrs. Elizabeth Thompson, Mrs. Ann Rodenkirch, and Miss Bertilla Freund were taken by Mr. and Mrs. John Oakford, who also helped to entertain the boys. The bake sale at the McHenry State bank was sold out by 11:45 a.m. The profits will enable the court to meet its obligations in various charitable projects. The spring card party is scheduled for Thursday, May 2, in the K.C. hall at 8 p.m., with the officers of the court in charge. There will be table and other prizes. Hie Communion Sunday and breakfast will be at St. Patrick's this year. Mrs. Rita Ulrich is chairman for this yearly event. Mass will be at 8:30 a.m. May 5. It was with sorrow that the Court received word of the passing away of Mrs. Eleanor Foley. Mrs. Foley was a charter member of Court Joyce Kilmer and had been honored at a social in November.
