AFS Student Gives Program For Friendship Club After a delicious pot-luck dinner, President Elmer Stange called the 106th Friendship club meeting to order with words of praise to the ladies for the fine dinner. Mary Butler and Mabel Thomas were in charge of the program. Mrs. Btttler introduced Sonia "Sonny" Dale Corbin, the A.F.S. Student from Barbados, who is living with the Jerome Rogers family in Lakeland Park. "Sonny" proved to be a most delightful guest. Her slides were interesting and her narrations informative. Everyone enjoyed her program very much. The. next meeting of the Friendship club will be Saturday, May 11, at 6 p.m., at the First United Methodist church. Set Benefit Fair Diddley Fair Diddley Day is set for Sunday, May 19, from noon to 6 p.m., fair officials have announced. Fun for the entire family is in store, when the Woodstock City Square will be brimming with a 11 the excitement of an old- fashioned country fair. Fair Diddley is an annual event sponsored by the Women's auxiliary of the Family Service and Mental Health Clinic for McHenry County. The proceeds from the fair are donated to the clinic to help further its work of family and personal counseling. Co-chairwoman of the fair, Mrs. Wayne Brown, Woodstock, said, "We will be extending the fair an extra hour this year because of its great success in the past." One of the highlights of the fair is the "Craft Bazaar" and "Artists Nook," where amateur and professional exhibitors from throughout the Chicago and northern Illinois area will offer a variety of artistic and craft items. Shoppers will find an abundance of bargains including white elephants, used books and records, flowers and potted plants, toys and nearly- new infants' and children's clothing. Tempting the tastebuds will be baked goods created by women throughout the county. Ringwood Actress Among Leads In Opera House Play Covent Garden Productions, Inc., will present at the Woodstock Opera House the contemporary drama, "The Price" by Arthur Miller. Featured in the cast are Nicholas Muschal, Algonquin; Barbara Miller, Ringwood; Donald Crop, Mundelein; and Thomas Hausman, Lake Villa. "The Prfce" is the story about two brothers, one a policeman and the other a doctor, who have allowed envy and distrust to keep them apart for sixteen years. They finally meet in the attic of a building that is to be torn down, where they must decide how to sell the furniture stored there. Social Worker April Speaker For PWP Chapter Parents Without Partners, Chapter 189, will hold its general meeting Friday, April 19, at the American Legion home, corner of Woodstock and Oak streets, Crystal Lake, at 8:30 p.m. First timers' orientation begins at 8 p.m. The program for the evening centers upon the film, "The Widow," which will be shown by Bruce Johnson, a psychiatric social worker. Discussion will follow concerning the problems and adjustment for all single people to the loss of a spouse, whether by death, divorce, or separation. On Easter Sunday her son and family of Island Lake entertained her at dinner. The afternoon was spent in visiting her grandchildren. St. Joseph's Ladies Plan Salad Luncheon The ladies of St. Joseph's parish, Richmond, are holding a chicken salad luncheon and card party April 24 at noon at the church hall. Plans were finalized at the April 8 meeting. William's college, and has also attended the University of Illinois.
