Cal Skinner, Jr.'s Crystal Lake Plaza office last Thursday with $150 for the fight against RTA. DeHaan explained that he wanted to do what he could to keep McHenry county out of the Regional Transportation Authority district and he thought collecting funds to help with the recount efforts from his neighbors was something he could do. The contributions ranged from $1 to $5 and came froiri fifty-eight Alden area residents after a door to door canvass by DeHaan. "This is the type of response from citizens that we need if we are to stand a chance of learning whether the RTA referendum even passed honestly," Rep. Skinner pointed out. "This battle is going to be very expensive, but it's one that Appetizing Appetiser Cubes or slices of roast beef make popular appetizers. Spaying and neutering pets should help reduce the problem of surplus cats and dogs, but surgery alone is not enough. Unowned animals are a major part of the problem. In addition to creating a public nuisance and possible health hazard, stray dogs and cats give birth to unwanted pups and kittens at an alarming rate. Many communities have tremendously reduced or nearly eliminated their unwanted animal population simply by enforcing existing animal control regulations. has to be fought," Skinner said. "I hope residents of larger towns will follow Alden's example." Others have come to grips with the problem by passing more stringent laws and enforcing them rigidly. As a concerned citizen, you should do everything you can to see that leash laws and other animal control regulations in your area are up to date and adequately enforced. And, as a responsible pet owner, you should make sure your pet "does not" contribute to the problem.
