SCHMITZ HarryJ.Schmitz,78, of 10706 Main street, Richmond, died suddenly April 16 in Richmond. He was born Sept. 19, 1895, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Chris and Margaret Richter Schmitz. A resident of Richmond for the last 5*6 years, he formerly lived in Twin Lakes and Chicago. He was an auto mechanic for over 55 years. He was a veteran of WWI serving as a sergeant in the army in France. The deceased was a member of the Community church of Richmond, the Richmond Masonic Lodge No. 153, A.F. & A.M., the Order of the Eastern Star Richmond Chapter No. 267, the Paul C. Hoffman American Legion Post No. 253, and the Roseland Moose No. 1062 in Chicago. Survivors include his wife, Ruth; a daughter-in-law, Mary Jan Schmitz, Wilmette; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Norman. Funeral services were held Thursday,.April 18, at l p.m. at Ehorn-Adams funeral home with Rev. Glenn Mensing of the Community church officiating. She was born Dec. 28, 1927, in Koln (Cologne), Germany, the daughter of Ernst and Eleonore Reusteck. A resident of Richmond for the last 8 years, she and her husband owned and operated Ed's Antiques on Main street for the last 3 years. They also owned and operated Ed's Barn in Long Grove for the last 10 years. Survivors include her husband, Edward, whom she married Mary 15, 1954 in Koln (Cologne), Germany; a daughter, Eileen, two sons, Eric and Mark, all at home; two sisters, Inge Limet of Brussels, Belgium, and Eleonore Fassbender and a brother Ernst, both of Koln- Bruck, Germany. Interest rates on savings deposits are regulated by an agency of the Federal Government and generally the rates are basically the same whether your deposit is in Chicago, New York or McHENRY.
