Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton took their vows standing in front of the fireplace which was tanked by bouquets of spring flowers. A very special touch to the double ring ceremony was that the attendants at the wedding were Judy's handsome young son, Brett, 7, and Deanna, a doll like 3 year old. After the ceremony, family and guests drank a champagne toast to the newly weds and then enjoyed a delicious brunch. John is the son of Phil and Marilynn Hamilton of Oakwood Drive. The new family will make their home in Carpentersville where John is a designer- draftsman at Hills-McCanna. SORRY TO HEAR Mrs. Harry Lynn of Royal Drive, a rather new Oaker, suffered a nasty fall and broke her ankle so badly that she will have an enforced lazy summer. It will be several weeks before she can swing into action. Frank Dempsey of Melrose Court is back in St. Francis hospital, hopefully for a short time this trip. As Dean Martin used to say "Keep those cards and letters coming,' They sure do help break up hospital monotony. Bill Simms is recovering from surgery at McHenry hospital. It's always nice to be able to report good news. The Simmses recently sold their house on Ashley Drive and moved to the Condoe, just proving that darned few people can bear to leave the Oaks. When we see Marshall Hilgers of Melrose Court sunning on his patio after 45 long days in the McHenry hospital, we are reminded how truly great the McHenry rescue squad is. Their quick and decisive action saved "Marsh's life when he suffered a very severe coronary. There is a mighty secure feeling among McHenry residents, knowing that at a time of need, those great men are ready, willing ami able to help all of us. Gil is employed in the Capitol as a Security Radio Communications Guard. He guided them on a "real inside" tours of the Capitol, the White House, the Capitol where they visited both the House and Senate Galleries. The Smithsonian Institute held a particular interest for the Conklins in the Air and Space Exhibit and the History and Technology buildings. A very special tour of the Naval academy at Annapolis was enjoyed by all the proud Conklin family, knowing that on July 8 their grandson Michael Conklin will enter the academy by presidential appointment. Now the Conklins are looking forward to his graduation and the traditional throwing of the hats into the air! Mr. and Mrs. Chester Conrad of Oakwood Drive report they had a very enjoyable "Mini- vacation" the last week of May in Green Lake, Wis. The group toured the whole place and enjoyed a delicious luncheon there. President Marie Robinson reported the trip was well worth it and everyone should go to see it. On the way home the group stocked up on sausages at a store in Volo. Coming events of the Young at Hearters include a trip to Springfield and New Salem, beginning at 6 a.m. They will take along a picnic lunch and stop at a favorite restaurant for supper. Other things to look forward to are a two hour boat ride around Lake Geneva, a tour of the House of Flame in Kenosha, a trip to the famous Six Flags at St. Louis and the Anheuser Brewrey tour and a look at heir famous horses. At the June 5 meeting, a speedy get- well was wished to two members who were recently hospitalized, Sam Y ok ley and Art Sigwalt.
