I SECTION 2 - PAGE 3 - PLAINDEALER - FRIDAY -JUNE 14, 1974 West Shore Beach Connie. Schmidt 385-7841 First Child Welcomed By Mohlmans William Jeffrey Mohlman • arrived June 5 at 1:17 a.m.! weighing 8 lbs. 8 oz. He isj keeping mom company at' Gottleib Memorial Hospital in Melrose Park. His hatfpy > parents are Bill and Pat Mohlman of Alton Road who welcomed their first child and new son. Billy's grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. William, Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. L. Schatz. He is also very fortunate to have five great grandparents: Great' grandma Barbara Buben, Great- grandma and grandpa Schatz and great grandma and grandpa Burn. We all wish Bill and Pat many congratulations and lots of good times ahead with their new baby. A special note of get- well wishes to William's mother and may you both hurry and come home soon. A new baby is a precious moment we all can share! VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION The June 8 cleanup efforts could not have been publicized so well without the help of some members of the community. These persons who passed out notices on each street were: Woodland-S. Wasicak, Highland- F. Schmidt, Hillside- N. Rushmore, Orchardway- K. Shaffer, Euclid- D. Jaburek, Westshore-J. Finielle and H. Mohlman, CleVeland-H. Mohlman,Beachside-Ed Piatt, Alton- D. ^Jaburek and H. Mohlman. These individuals took up part ottheirtime to help inform others- o£ our tree and brush removal. Could you volunteer for little jobs such as this and let your community interest show? Volunteer recognition costs more than money could buy. Will you help next time? WIN MERIT CERTIFICATES Their first year at Parkland School has proven rewarding for Bobby and Tommy Wasicak, sons of Sylvia and James Wasicak of Woodland Drive. Bob was awarded a certificate of merit from Eugene Maris for the most outstanding student in industrial arts on June 6. Brother Tom received a certificate of merit from Coach Eiserman for basketball and track that recognized his outstanding and exceptional ability in these sports. The boys will enroll at Marian Central high school in Woodstock next fall. Congratulations to both and may your future years be j»ven more successful. TRAVEL PRESENTATION The Women's Auxiliary met last Thursday evening at the home of Esther Finielle. Refreshments were provided by the hostess and Mrs. Radlein baked a delicious cake. Die evening's highlight was a travel dialogue (of various world travels) presented by Esther's husband, Joe. Among the places we viewed were the Pasadena Rose parade, Disneyland, Alaskan cities and Florence, Italy. Everyone was also impressed with a South American Cruise and fascinated with the Caribbean stepovers of Aruba, Barbados and Martinique. It was a pleasant and enjoyable evening for all those ladies who could attend. Our stationary has not arrived yet, but should be forthcoming very soon. • SERIES THREE The following article is by the same member of the community who wrote the first two opinions on our subdivision and would like to respond to the comment of last week's resident. I am overwhelmed to see one response to the "Epitaph". BRAVO to you! However, this does not alter the fact or the issue: 1) peer attendance, 2) lack of participation. You stated "I have been a participating member of the subdivision for 3% years". What I wish to point out here are two words "have been", therefore, you place yourself in the above category which in turn automatically disqualifies the response. If your complaint is not reasonably satisfied It may be due to your presentation. Your words and actions might have been inept. You also have an*' obligation to follow through and pursue the complaint at the admin istrative ?i" 2 level. Therefore by your own writing you admit to the literal meaning of apathy. Sympathizers, revolutionists are not what is needed. Evolutionists would be the word to use here. We need to bring a more highly state of condition through evolving. I dop't presume to have an euphoric condition exist, but why not reach for the moon. All I am striving to get across is whether it is administrative or local level working together -- change is inevitable by the power of the vote. The key work is together. It was a nice opinion. This is what it is all \ imi X a Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there. For help with all your family insurance needs, see: DENNIS CONWAY 3319 W. ELM SI. REBUTTAL The following is a response to the answer to the epitaph by Martha Dignan who wants to express her feelings. Our aim and efforts have been to improve and beautify our subdivision. From my observation it has been the same residents who do the organizing of any project, be it work or pleasure; who attend meetings, although it's not always convenient to their personal schedule; who have, tired to keep this Association and community ALIVE! We, on the Board, would like to correct this water situation but repairing of the roads seems to always take precedence over other problems, perhaps because of the majority of complaints when dues paying time rolls around. This is my first year on the executive board and I take exception to the comment that apathy exists among us. On the contrary, as far as the board is concerned, ACTION is what we strive for and APATHY is just a six letter word. What we need is constructive suggestions and help not anonymous letters. PERSONALS Marie Wegner attended commencement exercises June 7 for her great-grandson Ronnie Aniballi who graduated from Dundee high school. Ron already has a flyer's license and his parents Mr. and Mrs. Dick Aniballi are very proud of him. Good luck ih the future Ron! Happy birthday to Darin Jaburek who celebrates on June 9.
