Betl\ Lang, J,- daughter of Mr. and Mrs. * William Lang, McHenry, and - Judy Vyduna, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Vyduna, McHenry, are this year's winners and will be presenting their demonstrations at the Illinois State Fair in August. Both girls are members of the Lincoln Cloverleafs 4-H club. Betty Lang gave her demonstration on Scandinavian rosette cookies and Judy Vyduna demonstrated with Aunt Lillie's coconut custard pie. Robin Nolan and Joy Vyduna, both members of the Lincoln Cloverleafs, Jean Slater, Busy Wed Saturday As National Delegate Beavers; and Lynn Simmons, Kishwaukee Clovers, were chosen to attend the State Fair as observers and assistants. Darrel Simmons, Kiswaukee Clovers, and Sally Harrison, Greenwood Gremlins, will be alternates for State Fair and will go if someone who was chosen cannot attend. "The contest was outstanding as all demonstrations received an "A" rating from Judge Jean C<jpney," said Mrs. Frank. "All participants in this contest will repeat their demonstrations during the county fair." St. Patrick's Catholic church was thescene of a lovely summer wedding Saturday, June 22 when Nancy Lou Kraymer and Bradley Arthur Pictor exchanged nuptial vows before the Rev. Michael Douglas at 3 o'clock services. Nancy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Glenn Kraymer of 1324 Old Bay road, McHenry, and Brad is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Pictor of 4117 W. Crestwood drive, McHenry. The church was decorated with altar bouquets of pink gladioli and carnations and the pews were adorned with bouquets of greens trimmed with pink ribbon bows. Special* music at the ceremony included "The Swan" by Saint-Saens, "Morning" by Grieg and "Liebestraum" by Liszt. The pretty bride wore an" ivory, silk-faced organza and peau d'ange lace gown styled with an empire bodice, sabrina neckline, baby doll sleeves and an A-line skirt which flowed into a chapel length train. Fluted organza ruffles trimmed the neckline and cuffs of the sleeves. The skirt was accented with scattered motifs and a deep border of peau d'ange lace with fluted ruffling at the hemline. Her fingertip mantilla edged in matching lace was attached to a Camelot cap of pearl appliqued lace. She carried a cascading bouquet of deep red roses, ivy and baby's breath accented with garnet streamers. For sentiment, she wore a small gold ring which belonged to her late maternal grandmother. Mrs. Robert (Diane) Mason of West Lafayette, Ind., attended her sister as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Julie Fenwick of DesPlaines, Miss Tammy Olson of Bassett, Wis., and Mrs. John (Barbara) Plutshack of McHenry. The attendants wore pink flowered organza gowns over taffeta slips designed with wide ivory cotton lace at the necklines, short puffed sleeve edges and down the center back of the gowns. The matron of At the recent Illinois state convention of the National Catholic Society of Foresters, Mrs. Paul Pitzen, president of St. Agatha Court 777, Johnsburg, was elected one of the twenty-eight Illinois delegates to attend the national convention to be held in Minneapolis. Minn., in August. The Illinois convention wa& held at the Sheraton Motor Inn in Galesburg, 111. The Mass opening the convention was celebrated by the Rev. Francis M. Oman in Corpus Christi church. Mrs. Lucy Domino, national president of the N.C.S.F., distributed several awards and prizes, among them the Junior Merit court award to St. Agatha Junior court. This is the fifth consecutive year the court has earned this award. The Junior court scrapbook also won first prize. Mrs. Gene Hughes accepted these awards. She was attending the convention as a guest. The^ adult court scrnphook placed second. The "Court of the Month" award for June was given to St. Agatha court. Mrs. Alfred Oeffling, national director and St. Agatha court member, accepted the award. Mrs. Richard Dehn, Mrs. Carl Neiss and Mrs. Paul Pitzen were the delegates from St. Agatha court. Mrs. Pitzen was elected secretary of the convention and Mrs. Gene Hughes was the judge of election for the election of the Illinois national delegates. honor wore a pink slip and the attendants wore ivory. Each attendant wore short pink lace gloves and carried cascading bouquets of pink Sonia roses and baby's breath trimmed with moss green streamers. Eric Weiss of McHenry served as best man. Groomsmen were David and Paul Pictor, brothers of the groom, and Robert B. Mason of West Lafayette, Ind., the bride's brother-in-law. For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Kraymer chose a floor length aqua gown with white accessories and wore small white flowers in her hair. The groom's mother wore a formal length pink gown with matching accessories and a white orchid corsage. Immediately after the ceremony, a reception was held at the Hunter Country club in Richmond for 215 guests. The guest book was passed by Joye Spengel and Christy Stanell. The young couple plan to take a honeymoon trip later in the year. They will make their home now in Rochester, Minn. The newlyweds both graduated from McHenry high school. Nancy attended DePauw university at Greencastle, Ind., for two years and has a B.S. degree from Colorado State university at Fort Collins. She is an occupational therapist and for the past year has been doing her hospital affiliation work which included the Denter Medical center in Denver, the Rocky Mountain Rehabilitation center in Colorado Springs, the University of Minnesota hospital at Minneapolis and after her marriage, will return to the Mayo clinic at Rochester to complete her work in October. - She also had a summer Practicum at Tripler Army hospital in Honolulu. The bridegroom studied at Southern Illinois university for two years taking both pilot training and regular university courses. He transferred to Colorado State at Fort Collins, where he received his B.S. degree in June and was also commissioned a lieutenant in the Air Force. He serves as a pilot and will go on active duty in February, 1975. The groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner for about twenty-five persons on the eve of the wedding day. Prior to the wedding, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Weiss gave a Book and Bar shower for the groom. Queen Candidates To Advertise Summer Fair play for nursing homes and church groups. Marie Kenyon «r Featured In July Musical Mrs. Marie Kenyon of McHenry has been cast as Shandel in the upcoming Gaslite Players production of "Fiddler on the Roof". Mrs. Kenyon, a teacher at St. Mary's school, has appeared as Helena in Northern Illinois university's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and as a dramatic soloist with the McHenry Choral club. She will also serve as an assistant to the choreographer as well as being an understudy for Yente the matchmaker. Sponsors of other candidates Ida Mae Adams of Wonder Lake will lend her talents to "Fiddler". Mrs. Adams, who is * currently working as pianist for the Ringwood Methodist church, will provide piano accompaniment for "Fiddler". "Fiddler on the Roof", directed by B.D. (DON PEASLEY STAFF PHOTOGRAPHY) Head Start Recognizes Sewing Group The Whispering Hills Sewing group has received a service award, a certificate of appreciation presented by Head Start, "in grateful recognition of loyal service to the citizens of this community through dedication in the advancement of the highest ideals of American education. In recent weeks the sewing group has brought doll clothes, smocks and long skirts to the Head Start center. Toys also provided a pleasant surprise. MR. AND MRS. THOMAS S. Kitchen Band Appears For Nursing Home Monday afternoon, June 17, the McHenry Senior Citizens club kitchen band was a guest at the Genoa City, Wis., nursing home. The band has played for this group several times, and residents are always most enthusiastic for repeat performances. Inasmuch as many of the residents are of ' German heritage, the band prepared a special segment consisting of well known and loved German songs as a sing-along. This was an overwhelming success, as the audience sang with gusto and much toe-tapping and clapping. Following the program the band and audience enjoyed a social time, and the very delicious refreshments. The band is always happy to Miss Margaret Wernecke, compared education in England, German and the United States. Miss Wernecke has taught in all three countries and feels that the "old fashioned" values of honesty, kindness and loyalty must be once again stressed in the school system to counteract the negative outlook students are developing and which the Watergate scandal has helped along. Four new members were welcomed into the club, Neida Rechiski, Ursala Richardson, Camille Collins and Bonnie Gaza. President of the club, Vila Benrud, announced that fourteen members attended the recent Leadership conference held in Chicago with meetings on legislation, finance, public relations and membership.
