Name Pediatric Unit For Dr. P.H. Griesbach JOINS MCC BOARD -- Chairman Barbara Pautz of the McHenry County College board of trustees swore in newly elated student member, Tom Amettis of Richmond, and alternate member, Bill Barry, of Marengo at a recent board meeting. Amettis will occupy that position through June 30, 1975. He and Barry were chosen by popular vote of the students at MCC. The team standings are: Ed's Rental 4-0 First Nat ' l Bank 2-1 Chris ' Team 2-2 MeHenrv State Bank 1-3 Guettler 's 0-3 In the July 1 games, Guettler 's forfeited to Chris ' team. Ed's Rental and First Nat ' l went into extra innings after being tied 5-5 for five innings. Ed's Rental finally broke the tie and scored six runs in the top of the 8th inning and then held First Nat ' l to only one run in the bottom of the 8th to win 11-6. Deaths AMBROSE KOERPER Ambrose Koerper, 52, died at his home at 1512 Lakeland avenue, McHenry, Wednesday morning, July 3, following a long illness Mr. Koerper was born Dec. 18, 1921, in Austria, son of Joseph and Clara (Konrath) Koerper He came to this country in 1924. The deceased, an Army veteran of World War II, was a printer for National Research He belonged to VFW Post 4600 and Legion Post 491, both McHenry Survivors are a daughter, JoAnn, of Crystal Lake; a brother, Joseph, who resided with him , and two grandchildren.. Visitation was scheduled from 2 to 9 o'clock Thursday at George R Justen and Son funeral home A funeral Mass will be offered Friday at 10 o'clock in St Patrick's Catholic church Burial will be in Countryside cemetery Julie Ooeffling pitched the entire game for First Nat ' l and Joanne Ospalik went the distance for Ed's Rental. Joan Jensen made some spectacular catches at shortstop/for First Nat ' l . Julie Gende was Ed's Rental long ball hitter and she also had some excellent plays at 3rd base. "It is my pleasure to announce that a pediatric unit of the new Northern Ill inois Medical center will be named the Dr. Peter H Griesbach Pediatric unit , ' ' said the smiling chairman of the McHenry hospital board of directors. The surprise announcement climaxed the "Lollipops and Roses" testimonial reception for Dr and Mrs Peter Griesbach Sunday* June 30, at the McHenry Country club Organized by mothers of Dr. Griesbach's pediatric patients from Crystal Lake, McHenry and Woodstock, the afternoon of tributes, presentations and farewells attracted hundreds of well-wishers. ' ' Among those participating were Dr Lee Gladstone, a founder of McHenry hospital, and the colleague who invited Dr. Griesbach to open his practice in McHenry in 1955. Master of Ceremonies Donald Doherty of McHenry also introduced Dr Jerome Handler, who was in practice in association with Dr Griesbach and Dr Gladstone for some years; Frances Hughes of Crystal Lake, Dr Gladstone's first office nurse; Henry Tonyan, first president of the McHenry hospital board of directors, and others. Mayor Joseph Stanek of McHenry presented the "keys to the city" to Dr. and Mrs. Griesbach, and Richard Swantz, superintendent of McHenry high school, presented an engraved desk clock.
