McHenry Shores Sandra Moyer Village Board Passes Two Resolutions Sorry about not having a column in last week's paper. With the holiday weekend I missed the deadline. ~ At the last meeting of the Board of Trustees the agreement and contract with S.W. Knetsch and Associates for the ditching survey was read and will be signed by President Lillegard. Two resolutions were passed, the first 16 permit the building inspectors to be paid under the old fee schedule for permits issued prior to the acceptance of new schedules; the second to establish Thomas Henley, Jr., of Cary as village attorney, with Regina Narusis as deputy attorney for the prosecution of ordinance violations. Discussion was held on the possibility of writing an or dinance to prohibit the owners of dogs from allowing them to bark for extended periods of time. These owners can now be ticketed under the existing nuisance ordinance and if these owners do not start controlling their animals, tickets will be issued. At the present time the village is without a Civil Defense Director and by state statute, President Lillegard will fulfill the office of Acting director until a new director is selected, so we will not lose our accreditation. The plan for work to be done on Biscayne road was sub mitted to the board and ap proval was given to resurface the area between Bonita and Hollywood and patching to be done at Biscayne and Barreville and Hilltop and Bull Valley. The new squad car has been purchased and equipped and is now being used by the police department. The purchasing committee is also studying the purchase of a new tractor that can be used for road work along with the cutting of the vacant lot and right-aways. President Lillegard an nounced the appointment of Bill Ewald as zoning officer. The response to the job personnel flyer has been good, 385-8646 but if you are interested in community participation please return your applications as soon as possible. Don't forget Clean-up Day, June 7. The chipper will be in early Saturday morning so have the branches you wish to be disposed of on the right- away in front of your house, large ends facing the street, by 7 a.m. The dumpsters will be located at the corners of Bonita and Biscayne and at Bull Valley and Orchid Path. Please place all items in the dump sters or they will not be picked up. SHORELINE WAVES The next meeting of the Shoreline Club will be held on June 17 at 7:30 p.m. at the village hall. The garage sale was a suc cess with sales totaling over $320. ' The large cement pipe donated by Frank McPike has been installed at the beach. The bicycle racks have also been installed and the new baby swings are ordered. Our thanks to the helpful individuals who rolled one of the cable spools to be used for picnic tables into the creek. Your display of in fantilism was outstanding. It is such a shame that a few have to try to spoil the efforts of those who are trying so hard to create a place where the children and families of our area can go to enjoy themselves. The flyers are out for the children's trip to Milwaukee Zoo. Since only one bus has been reserved for this trip get your applications in early. Call Debbie Hoffman for more in formation. Also the flyers for the kids bowling party and the baseball game trip are out. Be sure and reserve a place as soon as possible. GRADUATES Our best wishes to the young people of the community who will be graduating from McHenry Junior high on June 10 and McHenry high school on June 11.
