BIRTHS HARVARD HOSPITAL Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Elmgreen, Wonder Lake, became parents of a son, July 26. Approximately live million preprinted renewal ap plications are being mailed to owners of passenger cars and other first division vehicles for 1976 calendar year registrations. Secretary of State Michael J. Howlett has announced that the new Bicentennial license plates will be displayed on all passenger cars in 1976. Kelley Jordan. 11. of Normal, submitted the winning design in a state-wide contest sponsored by Secretary Howlett. More than 4(Mf.000 school children participated. Howlett said that ap plications will only be accepted and processed with the pre printed renewal form. "Pre-prints ease the process of ordering or purchasing plates," said Howlett, "and Weather Satellites The first weather satellite was launched in 1960 Since Jhen <s t weather satellites have taken more than 2 2 million pictures and travelled more than 7 5 billion miles. '^Not one major hurricane or storm has gone un detected Thirty such satellites have been put into orbit during the past 15 years It's not "un-American" to disagree with others, re gardless of what positions they occupy. Matthew 23. 11,12 they enable our office to give better service to the public." Any incorrect information should be lined out and corrected on the pre-print, even if it does not cover the vehicle you are now driving.'For the second year, notarization is not required. Reassignments and special requests must be in the Secretary's office before the Sept. 30 deadline. Howlett said reassignment of present license numbers is guaranteed under state law if application is made by the specified date. "There are two important factors on special license requests." said Howlett. "The combination must be manufactured and the number must be available." Because many numbers already have been assigned, Howlett urged that applicants wanting special combinations add after their request "or lowest possible number in this HORNSBYS ^ f a m i l y c c n t e i • > -- • 8 x 10 0 H L Y LIMITE 0FFE ADULTS and CHILDREN [•--MM M Calf PwtrWtTso.
