Annestreet, Mcllenry.took place Aug. 2 at a nuptial Mass in St. Peter's cathedral, Rockford, with the Rev. Father Sweeny officiating. They are presently residing in the Westbrook apartments, in Downers Grove, 111. The bride was honored at six showers prior to the wedding. Pribble Will Lecture For League Mem bers William C. Pribble will lecture on "How to Paint the Sti l l Life" at this month's meeting of the Northland Area Art League (N.A.A.L.) , Friday, Aug. 29 at 8 p.m. in the Fellowship hall of the First Congregational church, 461 Pierson street . Crystal Lake. Pribble 's paintings have been exhibited in shows and galleries through-out the United States and he is represented in many private collections. He has twenty-five years teaching experience, . Including ten at the American Academy of Art . Presently he conducts classes in his private studio at 215 Lincoln Parkway in Crystal Lake. The August meeting marks the beginning of N.A.A.L. 's policy of rotat ing i ts monthly meetings among Crystal Lake, Woodstock and McHenry. September 's meeting will again be in Crystal Lake, the October and November meetings in Woodstock, and January and February in McHenry. N.A.A.L. was formed earl ier this year in response to a long fel t need for st imulation, recognit ion and information among area art ists from a variety of disciplines. Mem bership has grown since April from a few founders to more than sixty. Persons involved or interested in any phase of any of the arts are invited to at tend Friday's meeting and-or to contact Lori Wilhelm, mem bership chairman. Final plans are currently being made by the Richmond Garden club for i ts house walk to be held in Richmond, on Wednesday, Sept. 17, from 10 a .m. to 4 p.m. There will be four homes open for the tour as well as an open house at the Nippersink distr ict l ibrary. Garden club members will be serving at the tea table and arts and crafts booths at the Community church as well as serving as hostesses at the various homes. A candlelight gown of hand pearled, imported chanti l ly lace appliqued on opalescent sata-peau material was worn by the Iqvely bride. The self t rain was circled with the same lace. An empire waist l ine and Bishop sleeves added to the elegance of the dress. The headpiece was an open flower of imported chanti l ly lace and each petal was bordered with seed pearls . A f ingert ip veil fel l from the headpiece and a long, separate veil extended over the train. The veil also was bor dered with chanti l ly lace. Her bouquet was cream colored roses, s tephanotis and baby's breath with ivory, grosgrain streamers. The maid of honor was Nancy Oehme, Bloomingdale. Bridesmaids were Wendy Miller of McHenry and Therese Calass. Berwyn. The at tendants wore pink, knit halter dresses with hip length jackets. Crocheted pink straw hats with trai l ing pink sat in r ibbons, completed the ensembles. Their f lowers were pink roses, s tephanotis and baby's breath. Timothy Reil ly, McHenry, was the best man. Richard Oleszczuk, McHenry, and Robert Mauch, Milwaukee, Wis. , were groomsmen. A shocking pink sleeveless dress with a woven jacket of a darker pink, pale pink and pale yellow color was chosen by the bride 's mother. She carried white cymbidium orchids on her purse. The bridegroom's mother wore a swirled green print dress with a middy collar and wore a white cymbidium orchid corsage. A reception was held at the McHenry Country club at 4:30 p.m. for 175 guests The young couple spent five days at LasVegas, Nev. , and will make their home at 1109 N. 4th street , McHenry. The bride is employed as a computer operator. Her husband, a graduate of Notre Dame, is a probation officer and currently enrolled in the John Marshall Law school. Ridgefield Grange Holds Benefit Dance Friday, Sept. 5, wil l be dance t ime again, when the Ridgefield Grange annual benefi t dance which will take place at the American Legion hall in Crystal Lake at 9 p.m. The band will play a variety of tunes for the delight of both • ung and old. The Conductor-in-Residence program brings Dr. Elmer Thomas of the Universi ty of C i n c i n n a t i , C o l l e g e - Conservatory of Music, to McHenry county to work with students, bands, choirs , and chorales. The young people 's concert held last spring brought al l f if th through eighth grade students in McHenry county to a concert and gave the children the opportunity to talk with and question professional orchestra members. Also due to WFAA efforts , Woodstock became the first community in the United States to sponsor an Affi l iate Artist . Niki Flacks, an actress and singer who has held major roles in theater and television, met with and performed for groups throughout the area, from kindergarten classes to senior ci t izens. The Affi l iate Artist program begins i ts third year with the arrival of Ken Frankel . award-winning director, later this year. A WFAA-sponsored activi ty of long standing and tremen dous success is the "Encounter with the "Theatre" which brings Ksther Wanieck and her acting troop to the classroom. Thousands of area students- have benefitted from these exhilarating productions which are specially tailored to the interests and needs of McHenry county students. October begins the twelfth year of the Creative Living series, a series designed to st imulate and amuse a con temporary audience.
