On a peaceful sunny Sep tember afternoon in 1957, Tony Fontane, filled with the ex citement and satisfaction of a successful rehearsal for a TV network show, was driving in the San Fernando Valley. Suddenly there was an ear- splitting crash and everything went blank. Thirty days later, Tonv regained consciousness. This automobile crash brought Tony and Kerry and their daughter, Char'ae, to a knowledge of Jesus Christ. For their newfound Lord, they left lucrative careers to dedicate their God-given talents to the service of their Saviour. They used these talents to portray", themselves in this motion picture epic. R.C.A. Victor has recorded a souvenir album of the songs used in this motion nicture entitled "Songs From ""The Tony Fontane Story". The linear on the back of the album was written by Dr. Billy Graham, "The Bible says, 'I will sing a new song'. Certainly this is true of Tony Fontane. This music portrays in, the language of the soul the message which I also proclaim - the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am thrilled by the ministry of Youth Films, and I believe its potential is unlimited. I do not know of a greater work for Christ anywhere." All of these are correct. You can join 4-H when you become 8 years old. Many of these young' 4-H members enjoy such projects as "beginning cooking", "dog or cat" care, "arts and crafts", "horse and pony" or even a livestock project such as "sheep" or "beef" if you live in the country. Twelve-year-olds and young people up to the age of 19 can join 4-H and enjoy more involved projects such as: "Teen Time Food Fare", "Junior Leadership", "Money Management for Teens" and "Automotive Care." If you are 22, 35, or 45 years old or older, 4-H is still for you as a 4-H leader. 4-H leaders are the most important part of the 4-H program. Being an organizational leader and-or helping a 4-H clubs' members with a specific project, is where you fit into 4-H. Besides "Learning by Doing" through project work, 4-H members develop well rounded personalities by participation in 4-H activities. This helps them learn about other people, other places, and ideas, and how they can live better by working together as good citizens. County 4-H Federation events, roller skating parties, camping and citizenship are activities where 4-H members meet other young people from their own county, and are given the opportunity to take on leadership roles. County and district judging contests, public speaking festival, demonstration derby, and the 4-H show are com petitive 4-H activities where 4- H members are able to see how other members work, and the different results that are achieved. State 4-H conference, national citizenship short- course to Washington, D.C., and international activities such as the International 4-H Youth Exchange, and club or individual people-to-people activities, give 4-H'ers the experiencr "f meeting people and learning from them, and with them. Clubs and in dividuals learn more about other lands and their people by using study sheets, writing to Pen Pals, or having in ternational 4-H club meetings SKYLINE Rout* 120-1 Mile Ea»l of McHenry in the People to People activity. The 4-H programs are coordinated in every county by the University of Illinois Cooperative Extension service.
