Stenger, local banker and realtor, to the McHenry Sash and Door Co., being that belonging to the Woodward Pickle Co. This property has a 94 foot frontage. The company expects to start its new building soon. The McHenry Grays will travel to Burlington, Wis., next Sunday where they will once more tackle the home club. These two teams met at Burlington on Aug. 2. at which time the home team won the honors by a score of 5 to 3. Miss Lola Boyle has begun work in the Carey Electric Shop. Leo Eothermel is now em ployed by the Yellow Cab Co. The Mystic Workers will meet at the home of Nettie Weber Sept. 16. Officers will be elected. A pretty shower honoring Miss Coletta Freund of John- sburg was given by Catherine Frett Thursday afternoon at her home. Twenty-five girls were present. The afternoon was spent in playing games, the evening was spent dancing at Kempfer's hall. John C. Rhenwold caught a blue catfish which weighed seven pounds and measured 26 inches long in Crystal Lake. The fish is said to be the only one of its kind ever taken out of the lake. The "Sunshine Cottage" situated on the east side of Fistakee Bay was burned to the ground Monday evening. FORTY YEARS AGO (Taken from the files of Sept. 12,1935) The "Lucky Baby" for September is Kenneth Nickolas Miller, born at the Woodstock hospital Sept. 6. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Miller of Johnsburg. The many prizes which are offered by McHenry business houses for the first baby born each month within five miles of the Plaindealer office are creating a great deal of interest in this novel contest. Loren Miller, 19 year old son o Mr. and Mrs. Fred Miller, is critically ill at the county hospital at Hartland where he underwent an emergency operation for appendicitis. The mid-west greenkeepers association entertained the Wisconsin greenskeepers association at the ^McHenry Country club. Golf during the afternoon with scores ranging from 76 to 141. Mrs. Flora J. Ott of Herlowtown, Mont., visited in McHenry after an absence of nineteen years. Mrs. Otto who is a former resident of this city is enroute from her home in Montana to Atlantic City, N.J., as a representative to the meeting of the sovereign grand lodge of the Rebekans. She is a past worthy matron of McHenry Chapter, O.E.S. of the ye^r 1915. Arnold Regner, formerly employed in Regner's Grocery and market as a meat cutter, has accepted a position in the same capacity with Buehler Bros, at Niles, Mich.
