Rep. Cal Skinner Meets With League Of Women Voters CAL SKINNER, JR. Rep. Cal Skinner, Jr., (R- 33rd Legislative District) is the first to accept an invitation from the Woodstock-McHenry League of Women Voters to attend their annual legislative reception. The reception will be held Sunday, Oct. 19, 2-6 p.m., at the McHenry Country Club. The public is invited to attend and have an opportunity to meet their elected officials. Thirty-three year old Cal Skinner, Jr., is a sophomore member of the Illinois House of Representatives. Skinner has been especially noted in the General Assembly for his work in the area of local taxation. Among bills sponsored by Skinner are: doubling appeal time for real estate assessments, requiring written notice to be mailed to each taxpayer every time his assessment goes up, equalizing assessments for residents of overlapping tax districts, allowing full investment of protested tax funds. Skinner is currently serving on the RTA Legislative Ad­ visory Committee, House- Senate Joint Revenue Sub­ committee on Property Tax Reform, as minority spokesman on Motor Vehicles Commission, and other tax and economic related committees. Rep. Skinner serves as a full time legislator and maintains a district office in Crystal Lake. Among other invited officials to the legislative reception are: Governor Walker, Senators Percy and Stevenson, Representatives Anderson and McClory, State Represen­ tatives Waddell and Hanahan, State Senator Schaffer. Also invited are local city officials from Woodstock and McHenry, ur&y Board members, McHenry County College of­ ficials.
