A Eucharistic Vigil with its theme being, "Holy Year and Family Prayer", will begin "with a 12 Noon Mass. The homily and welcome will be given by Rev. D.E. Tranel, pastor of Christ the King. Mass will be followed by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and Consecration of the Hearts of Jesfiis and Mary. The Pilgrim Virgin Statue of Our Lady of Fatima will be an impressive part of the Procession of the Blessed Sacrament. A Redemptorist priest from Edgerton, Wis., will conclude the procession with a very inspiring talk. The 2 p.m. coffee break offers an opportunity for confession or silent prayer as well as time for coffee and relaxation. The afternoon resumes with the Scriptural Rosary, led by a Franciscan Friar from Kenosha, Wis. Another Franciscan Friar, Brother Pius, will sing the Litany of Our Lady and lead the congregation in response. At 3:30 p.m., there will be a Holy Year Prayer and Benediction. The four hour afternoon vigil, which has been organized under the ex­ perienced direction of Hildegarde Narowetz, can be experienced in its entirety or in any of its parts. People are welcome to join in the services at any time in the afternoon. It is not unusual for Catholics to travel many miles for an op­ portunity to participate in such a vigil jind anyone in the surrounding area is invited to share with the parishioners of Christ the King in their Holy Year Eucharistic Vigil on the nineteenth of October. HALLOWEEN PARTY The American Legion Post 1169 will be holding a Halloween party for all children of Wonder Lake up to the age of twelve years on Saturday, Oct. 25, at 2 p.m. So all you ghosts and goblins dress up in your best Halloween finery and come on down to the party. MAIL SERVICE The U.S. Postal Service first- class mail service im­ provement program went into effect at Wonder Lake Post Office on Oct. 11, Postmaster L.W. Murphy announced. Under the program, first- class mail will receive service that is equal to or better than airmail. The major, new service step will extend to all first-class mail weighing 13 ounces or less. "In practical terms, what this service improvement means is that domestic first-class postage now will purchase the level of service that previously only airmail could buy," said Postmaster L.W. Murphy. "Under the new program, there no longer will be an ad­ vantage in purchasing airmail postage for domestic delivery," she said. Priority mail (now starting at weight in excess of 13 oun­ ces), which includes air parcel service, and international airmail are unaffected by the improvement program and continue in their present form, the postmaster said. "Airmail stamps will be sold for use on priority and in­ ternational airmail. They can also be used in various com­ binations with other stamps for first-class mail," she said. Customers can exchange airmail stamps, and stamped envelopes and cards at full postage value for ordinary stamps, stamped envelopes and cards. Stationery bearing airmail indicia will be allowed to be mailed at the first-class rate, Postmaster L.W. Murphy said. To aid postal customers, maps showing the cities and area targeted for next and second day delivery for mail from Wonder Lake will be on display in the post office lobby, the postmaster said. White top collection boxes, now used exclusively for air­ mail, will be removed or converted to use for other purposes, the postmaster said. EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING Commander James Hales announces to all members of the American Legion Post 1169, that the executive board meeting will be held Monday, Oct. 20, at 8:30 p.m. The regular monthly meeting will be on Tuesday, Oct. 21, at 8:30 p.m. RALLY DAY A rally day was held at Nativity Lutheran church on Sunday, Sept. 7.
