Holte became the bride of James (Bob) Hodges. Music for the 1 o'clock ceremony was presented by Mrs. John Leighty. The bride is "the daughter of Mrs. Loretta Prien of 218 N. Kent road, McHenry, and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Carmon Hodges of 1417 Beach drive, McHenry. For her wedding, the bride chose an ivory Irish satin and chantilly lace princess style gown designed with a sweetheart neckline and a long skirt which trailed into a chapel length train. The front panel Of the gown and the long Sleeves were fashioned of chantilly lace. Her chapel length veil was attached to a lace, crystal and pearl headpiece. The bride's only attendant was Mary Jane Grove, the groom's sister, who was attired in a floor length empire gown of orchid with white lace trim. Len Bogacz of McHenry served as best man. Mike Hodges, a brother of the groom, was usher for the ceremony. The bride's mother chose a hot pink floor length gown with rhinestone trim. The groom's mother wore an aqua chiffon formal length gown trimmed with rhinestones. Upon their return from a wedding trip to Wisconsin, the couple plan to make their home in McHenry. The couple are both high school graduates. He is em­ ployed as a service station attendant. Some people make church work and attend­ ance a part of their busi­ ness or political effort. Tickets for the annual Christmas Dinner and party of the Senior Citizens club will be on sale at the next meeting. The dinner date is Monday, Dec. 8, at 6:30 p.m. at East campus cafeteria. Seating is limited, so reservations should be made promptly. There were 201 in attendance when Vice-President Chester Conrad, in the absence of the President, Kenneth Boiisher, called the McHenry Senior Citizens club meeting to order on Monday evening, Oct. 27. Mrs. Alice Chermak, in­ troduced Alf Heggeland, art instructor, who in turn in­ troduced all the artists exhibitng at the art display, which was the program for the evening. Every year the exhibit grows, and many expressed amazement at the wonderful talent displayed by the club members. Guests were introduced and new members welcomed into the club. Members are cautioned that those three months in arrears on dues are automatically dropped from the membership roll! There will be three buses going to the Ice Capades Wednesday, Nov. 12, the buses will leave the McHenry State bank parking lot at 5:30 p.m. Check with Mrs. Frank Giel on a reservation for this trip. Plan "Meal And Talk At Methodist Church Good food, good music, and an interesting discussion on "Attitudes Towards Youth" are planned for Thursday, Nov. 13 at a "Meal and a Talk" spon­ sored by the McHenry County Friends meeting in cooperation with the First United Methodist church of McHenry. Proceeds will go to the American Friends Service committee (AFSC), a non-profit Quaker organization dedicated to finding peaceful solutions to human problems. Folk music by a musical group will accompany the Greek menu to be served continuously from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. at the church at 3717 Main street, McHenry. The speaker will be Dr. Judy Gottsegen, education program director for AFSC. Dr. Gott­ segen, now teaching at Roosevelt university, 1ias helped direct AFSC's support for community efforts to provide alternative educational opportunities for youth. The present focus of AFSC is to foster advocacy for youth in education. Ritual Of Jewels Ceremony Held For Pi Alpha Member The formal meeting Nov. 6 of Pi Alpha was preceded with the solemn and beautiful can­ dlelight ceremony bestowing upon Virginia StasiaK full membership as a Ritual of Jewels member of Beta Sigma Phi. Edward Bethold. They are parents of two sons, Wilfred Blake, and the late Francis Blake. They have eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. The couple farmed in the Lakemoor area until their retirement, when they moved to their present home.
