DANCE This is Holiday Hills Band stand, welcome everyone. The 50's dance held last Saturday evening turned out to be a real success, by the attendance of young couples ranging from 18 to the 60's in age. Still at 8:30 very few guests had arrived. Nine o'clock rolled around and wow what a sight the hall was packed with around 200 people coming and going throughout the evening. It was terrific to see such a crowd. Forgetting about the 50's best dressed contest, the teeny boppers started to dance to Hound Dog. Soon the announcement Pat Topolski and Bill "Fonzie" Robinson you have been chosen for the best dressed of the 50's. On into the evening a twist contest was held and a tie resulted between dance couples, Joey Foreman, Judy Abbink and Rick and Bev Hill. One more spin of Chubby and it wouldn't have been a tie, I would have had to be picked up off the floor. Moving on we saw Roy Maras and Pat Topolski take the spotlight as each sang with a song with their fantastic voices, then Bob Michaels played the bunny hop on his saxaphone. Then just before we all turned back into pumpkins a Limbo contest was held. It was so hard to judge the winner that six persons each got treated to a free drink. Contestants were Jan Lynn Hale, Judy Proffitt, Judy Vann, Roy Maras, Valerie Tannert and Larry Robinson. Roy sure was great even his height didn't hinder him. The last contest I saw was the jitterbug with Casey and Vickie Bartkus winning the prize. Closing the evening for the H.H. 50's the wonderful DJ's, Doug Carroll, Herb Tannert and Jim Childs wish you all a goodnight.
