McHenry county had budgeted $9,000 for the NIPC request concerned with data consisting of one-quarter section population distribution of the 1970 census and partial population forecasts for some of the townships to the year 2000. Approval was given for the purchase of a new van for the Health department from Cavin Maginnis Ford, Harvard, for $4,478, and a sedan for the Health department from Benoy Motors, Woodstock, for $3,580.98, with trade-in. The used van was advertised for bid and sold to highest bidding individual. In an emergency situation, the Public Safety committee asked permission to purchase a squad car to replace one that was badly damaged. Although such matters are usually ad vertised for bids, the board gave approval. The board gave its okay to a study recommended by the Purchasing and Insurance committee concerning economy measures in the use of photo-copy equipment and service. Besdies the silver jubilarian, a special guest will be his mother, Mrs. Emma Jung, who presently resides at St. Joseph's home, Freeport, 111. Father Jung, 50, is the son of Mrs. Emma Jung and the late John A. Jung. After graduating from St. Peter's grade school, Spring Grove, in 1939, he began studying for the priesthood at Sacred Heart Mission seminary, Geneva, 111., and completed his studies at Sacred Heart seminary, Shelby, Ohio. He was ordained Nov. 30, 1950, in Mansfield, Ohio. On Dec. 8 of that year he celebrated his first solemn Mass at St. Peter's church in Spring Grove as the first native son of the parish to become a priest. He was associate pastor at St. John the Baptist church. Haycock, Pa., from 1951 to 1954.1, He then transferred to Sacred Heart seminary (now MSC Center) Shelby, Ohio, where he was seminary treasurer from 1954 to 1958. STAFF PHOTO-WAYNE GAYLORD Christmas Reverie Theme Of Choral Program Christmas Reverie is the theme selected by the McHenry Choral club for its annual Christmas program to be presented Saturday and Sun day evenings, Dec. 6 and 7, at 8:15 p.m. in West campus school auditorium. Jn a home setting, the audience will view the holiday season through the eyes of a child, a parent and a grand parent. Solos, ensembles and choral numbers will be used to portray each section. Soloists include Mary Ann Wegener, Mary Idstein, Carolyn Ritthaler, Judy Miss Betty Odmark, a well known Illinois artist who works in her 100-year-old studio on the banks of the Fox river in McHenry, has two paintings entered in the National Art Auction for 1975. One painting is entitled "Trigirlogy" and the other is untitled. The auction is heid during November in Washington, D.C. Miss Odmark, a native of Aurora, is the eleventh generation direct descendant of Gen. Robert Sedgwick, who built the first Port of Boston. She received her professional training at the Art Institute of Chicago and Merrill Art Studio. She is a member of the American Society of Artists and is currently exhibiting at their Michigan Avenue Galleries in Chicago. The sponsor of the National Art Auction for 1975 is the American Kidney Fund, a publicly supported health organization that provides financial assistance to people 2! American Province of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart. Stationed at Sacred Heart monastery in Aurora, Fr. Jung is also provincial coor dinator of the Provincial Ad ministration in Aurora and is on the Provincial council and chaplain for the Legion of Mary and Bellarmine Council 4849 of the Knights of Columbus in Aurora. East Campus Will Present "Mouse That Roared Dec. 11 and 13 are the dates chosen for the first East campus play production of the year, "The Mouse That Roared".Twenty-five freshmen and sophomore students have been rehearsing for the past month, memorizing lines, and working on the play that became the famous Peter Sellers movie. This is the first year that East campus will present its productions in the West campus auditorium. "The Mouse That Roared" will be given Thur sday Dec. 11, at 8 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 13, at 2 p.m. The Saturday matinee is designed as a "family" performance. The play is under the direction of East campus teachers, Dan Stanowski and Roger Zawacki. "The Mouse that Roared" is an hilarious comedy about the people of the small 'European country, Grand Fenwfck. Tully Bascom is the simple forest ranger who is sent by Gloriana the twelfth to invade the United States. The invasion party lands in New York City ready to declare war. Their adventures and misadventures in New York and back in Grand Fenwick provide the fun in a play that can be enjoyed by children of all ages. Deaths ELSIE GORSKI Elsie Gorski, 68, died Nov. 24 at her home at 3110 W. Judy lane, McHenry. She was born in South Dakota, April 22, 1907. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Allan (Joan) Williamson, McHenry, with whom she made her home ; four grandchildren; two brothers, Anton Mauch, Wauconda, and William Mauch, Portland. CAR FIRE Penny Schimke of 1211 N Riverside drive reported a car fire about 8:30 Wednesda" morning. Ms. Schimke was starting the auto when it back fired, causing a fire to start in the air cleaner. There was no damage. Pheasant road, Wonder Lake, was charged with battery following a fist fight at the Union Gas station, 3702 W. Elm, McHenry, Sunday night. His bond was set at $1,000 and he is to appear in court Dec. 2. When police arrived at the scene about 9:45, they found that Malina and Robert C. Wirfs of 3707 W. John street, McHenry, had been fighting in the driveway of the station. According to the police report, Wirfs had pulled into the station and was getting gasoline from one of the pumps when Malina pulled in and asked Wirfs to move ahead. Wirfs refused to do so and went into the station to sign a ticket. While in the station, Malina put his pickup truck into gear and pushed Wirfs' jeep forward.
