(STAFF PHOTOS-WAYNE GAYLORD) McCullom Lake Mary Jo Farrell 344-1575 Spring Clean-Up For This Weekend In McCullom Lake With the usual capacity crowd of interested villagers in attendance, the McCullom Lake village board met Tuesday, May 10, at the beach house. Probably the most popular issue discussed was the spring clean-up, which will be held Saturday and Sunday, May 21 and 22. There will be dumpsters located at seven spots around the village; those seven being: northwest corner of Clover Hill and Lake Shore drive, beach parking lot, vacant lot on Park view, 4 lots west of Eastwood drive, south end of Spring road, south end of Forest View, Hickory drive, just south of Park View, west, and the north end of Oak street. The dumpsters, as I men tioned last week, can be filled with anything that can b* easily carried by two men, including stoves, old couches, etc. However, broken concrete, old barns and houses, etc., are not allowed. If you are elderly or handicapped, and would like to make arrangements to have your goods picked up because you are unable to get them to the dumpsters yourself, call Jerry Raycraft, and he will be glad to see that someone picks up your contributions. In other village business, more good news. A street sweeper has been procured to sweep all the road sand off the intersections, so that it will be much more difficult to kill yourself while driving through the village. The sweeper will also clean the road sand from the storm sewers, so that they will be useful again. The new McCullom Lake Planning commission was appointed Tuesday night, and it includes, Jim Box, Dan Curran, Ron Krumsee, Bill Walter, David Weber, and will also include one rotating board member. Since Mr. Mass has petitioned the village for an nexation, it is important to have an actively involved planning commission at this time. The agenda for the May 24 meeting, at which I hope to see lots more of you, will include discussion about the an nexation of the Mass property, and reports by the committees. LADIES OF THE LAKE Sixteen members were in attendance at the Ladies of the Lake meeting May 12. Plans were made for activities for the rest df the year. In June, the ladies will have our Police Commissioner in to speak, and everyone in the village is in vited to attend this interesting meeting. Also at the June meeting, plans will be made for the picnic to be held in July. In August, there will be a white elephant sale at the meeting, in September, the annual plant sale, in^October, the Halloween party, A-l HEARING AID SERVICE Free Loaners - Complete Service on all Makes Custom Earmolds - 30 Day Trial on New Aids Try Before You Buy!
